Distribution of model‐based multipoint heterogeneity lod scores [PDF]

open access: yesGenetic Epidemiology, 2010
AbstractThe distribution of two‐point heterogeneity lod scores (HLOD) has been intensively investigated because the conventional χ2 approximation to the likelihood ratio test is not directly applicable. However, there was no study investigating th e distribution of the multipoint HLOD despite its wide application.

Near‐Infrared Light‐Driven Zn/Au Janus Micromotors for Multiplex SERS Detection of Anticancer Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zn/Au Janus micromotors, propelled by thermophoretic effects under NIR light, function as active SERS platforms for single and multiplex detection of anticancer drugs. Their dynamic motion enhances analyte exchange at the Au interface, reducing saturation and competitive adsorption, thereby improving sensitivity and extending the linear detection range.

Blood Biomarkers and Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy for Gout: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustrating gout disease progression from asymptomatic hyperuricemia to chronic tophaceous disease, highlighting the limitations of conventional imaging and biochemical diagnostics and the potential of engineered SERS platforms for ultrasensitive blood‐based detection of urate‐related biomarkers across disease stages, with the color gradient

Identification of a novel locus for triglyceride on chromosome 1p31-32 in families with premature CAD and MI*

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2008
An increased plasma triglyceride (TG) level is associated with coronary artery disease (CAD) and myocardial infarction (MI) and is a key characteristic of the metabolic syndrome.

Comparison of empirical strategies to maximize GENEHUNTER lod scores [PDF]

open access: yesGenetic Epidemiology, 1999
AbstractWe compare four strategies for finding the settings of genetic parameters that maximize the lod scores reported in GENEHUNTER 1.2. The four strategies are iterated complete factorial designs, iterated orthogonal Latin hypercubes, evolutionary operation, and numerical optimization.

Ultrasensitive Detection of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus Infections Using Multivalent DNA Nanostructure‐Enabled Lateral Flow Assay

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multivalent DNA nanostructure‐enabled lateral flow assay was developed for rapid, ultrasensitive detection of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) nucleocapsid protein. Designer net‐shaped DNA nanostructures (DNA‐Net) presenting PEDV‐specific aptamers achieved ~1000‐fold enhanced binding, enabling detection of viral copies with Ct ≤ 37.42 within 10

Handling linkage disequilibrium in qualitative trait linkage analysis using dense SNPs: a two-step strategy

open access: yesBMC Genetics, 2009
Background In affected sibling pair linkage analysis, the presence of linkage disequilibrium (LD) has been shown to lead to overestimation of the number of alleles shared identity-by-descent (IBD) among sibling pairs when parents are ungenotyped.

Engineered AuNPs/fMWCNT Nanocomposite Electrodes for High‐Sensitivity Methylglyoxal Sensing in Saliva and Sweat for Non‐Invasive Diabetes Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An AuNPs/fMWCNT nanocomposite‐modified screen‐printed carbon electrode was engineered via sequential electrodeposition and integrated into a 3D‐printed microfluidic platform for ultrasensitive methylglyoxal detection. The non‐invasive sensing platform enables rapid analysis in saliva and sweat, highlighting strong potential for wearable point‐of‐care ...
