Under heat stress, GENOMES UNCOUPLED1 (GUN1) is crucial for the formation of functional chloroplasts in seedlings under heat stress. Without GUN1, chloroplast development fails and seedlings fail to turn green. Therefore, GUN1 helps relay heat‐related cues to maintain chloroplast biogenesis and support thermotolerance during early growth.

The deubiquitinase USP38 affects cellular functions through interacting with LSD1
Background Deubiquitination is a posttranslational protein modification prevalent in mammalian cells. Deubiquitinases regulate the functions of the target protein by removing its ubiquitin chain.

LSD1 deletion decreases exosomal PD-L1 and restores T-cell response in gastric cancer
Background Histone lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1) expression has been shown to be significantly elevated in gastric cancer (GC) and may be associated with the proliferation and metastasis of GC.

Epigenomics‐guided precision oncology: Chromatin variants in prostate tumor evolution
Abstract Prostate cancer is a common malignancy that in 5%–30% leads to treatment‐resistant and highly aggressive disease. Metastasis‐potential and treatment‐resistance is thought to rely on increased plasticity of the cancer cells—a mechanism whereby cancer cells alter their identity to adapt to changing environments or therapeutic pressures to create

Epigenomic Regulation of Androgen Receptor Signaling: Potential Role in Prostate Cancer Therapy. [PDF]
Androgen receptor (AR) signaling remains the major oncogenic pathway in prostate cancer (PCa). Androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) is the principle treatment for locally advanced and metastatic disease.

Human Histone Demethylase LSD1 Reads the Histone Code [PDF]
Human histone demethylase LSD1 is a flavin-dependent amine oxidase that catalyzes the specific removal of methyl groups from mono- and dimethylated Lys4 of histone H3. The N-terminal tail of H3 is subject to various covalent modifications, and a fundamental question in LSD1 biology is how these epigenetic marks affect the demethylase activity.

Therapeutic targeting of chromatin alterations in leukemia and solid tumors
Abstract Alterations in chromatin conformation and post‐translational modification of histones have become increasingly recognized as critical drivers of cancer development, progression, and therapy resistance. Recent advances in drug development have led to the establishment of several highly selective small molecule inhibitors, several of which are ...

Lsd1 restricts the number of germline stem cells by regulating multiple targets in escort cells. [PDF]
Specialized microenvironments called niches regulate tissue homeostasis by controlling the balance between stem cell self-renewal and the differentiation of stem cell daughters.
