Astrocytes mediate in vivo cholinergic-induced synaptic plasticity. [PDF]
Long-term potentiation (LTP) of synaptic transmission represents the cellular basis of learning and memory. Astrocytes have been shown to regulate synaptic transmission and plasticity.

A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Presentation of normalized data for HFSLTP, HFSLTP-LTD, HFSLTP-LTP protocols.
Panels A–C show the normalized area under the curve of the ipsilateral R2 response after single pulse stimulation. HFSLTP, HFSLTP-LTD, HFSLTP-LTP were applied in patients and controls.

Path‐decoupled III–V van der Waals memtransistors spatially separate ionic and electronic transport to overcome the conventional trade‐off between accuracy and energy in neuromorphic hardware. Mobile K+ ions in the vdW gaps set a wide conductance window, Gmax/Gmin, while gate‐tunable hole conduction lowers programming energy, enabling reliable ...

Compensation for PKMζ in long-term potentiation and spatial long-term memory in mutant mice
PKMζ is a persistently active PKC isoform proposed to maintain late-LTP and long-term memory. But late-LTP and memory are maintained without PKMζ in PKMζ-null mice. Two hypotheses can account for these findings.

In a challenging and insightful commentary, Sanes and Lichtman (1999) courageously point out in print what has often been discussed at recent meetings: LTP seems to have lost its usefulness as a paradigm for studying synaptic plasticity, much less learning and memory.

Designable van der Waals Crystal for Artificial Neuronal Cell Mimicking
Designable van der Waals crystal has been demonstrated for device‐scale neuronal cell mimicking. The structural similarity between ion‐channel in biological membranes and layered vdW lattices is realized with nano‐crystallization via Ar + H2S plasma sulfurization.
