Floral Structural Characteristics of some Economic Cucurbits in Egypt [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Production, 2022
Studies on the floral morphology of seven species and two cultivars belonging to five genera of Cucurbitaceae were carried out to determine the relationship between these taxa. The study was carried out on the flowers' morphological, Micro-morphological,

Adult host‐plant preference and larval performance in an oligophagous insect (Chnootriba elaterii)

open access: yesPhysiological Entomology, Volume 48, Issue 4, Page 171-183, December 2023., 2023
For females of the melon ladybug, olfactory cues alone do not provide sufficient information to identify the potential host plants (Y‐tube olfactometer). The adult females choose between several cucurbits, often preferring watermelon and refusing loofah and calabash (dual‐choice chambers).

Bee functional traits and their relationship to pollination services depend on many factors: A meta‐regression analysis

open access: yesInsect Conservation and Diversity, Volume 16, Issue 3, Page 313-323, May 2023., 2023
We conducted a meta‐regression analysis to evaluate the relationship between 10 of the most commonly measured bee functional traits and pollination. Notably, we only found 17 studies that met our selection criteria, yielding 45 effect sizes for six of the traits (body size, tongue length, diet breadth, nesting, parasitism, and sociality).

Pest categorisation of Nipaecoccus viridis

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 21, Issue 1, January 2023., 2023
Abstract The EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of Nipaecoccus viridis (Hemiptera: Sternorrhyncha: Pseudococcidae), the spherical scale, for the EU. It is of Asian origin and occurs widely in southern Asia, Africa and tropical Australia. It has been introduced to a few countries in the Americas.

Bioaerosol and microbial exposures from residential evaporative coolers and their potential health outcomes: A review

open access: yesIndoor Air, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2022., 2022
Abstract Evaporative cooling is an energy efficient form of air conditioning in dry climates that functions by pulling hot, dry outdoor air across a wet evaporative pad. While evaporative coolers can help save energy, they also have the potential to influence human health.

Complete chloroplast genomes of Luffa acutangula and Luffa aegyptiaca and their phylogenetic relationships [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Simple sequence repeats (SSR) and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) were identified and analyzed differences in L. acutangula and L. aegyptiaca. Supplemrntary data included Table S1: Distribution of SSRs in L. acutangula and L. aegyptiaca chloroplast
