Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Deficiency in Cardiolipin Reduces Doxorubicin-Induced Oxidative Stress and Mitochondrial Damage in Human B-Lymphocytes.

open access: yes, 2016
Cardiolipin (CL) is an inner mitochondrial membrane phospholipid which plays an important role in mitochondrial function. Perturbation in CL biosynthesis alters mitochondrial bioenergetics causing a severe genetic disorder commonly known as Barth ...

Erythropoietin modulates hepatic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and soluble epoxide hydrolase and epoxides in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Identification of functional murine mitochondrial formyl peptides and their effects on myeloid‐derived suppressor cell generation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We first identified functional murine mitochondrial N‐formyl peptides (MT‐FPs) and investigated their effects on the in vitro myeloid‐derived suppressor cell (MDSC) generation from bone marrow cells. We demonstrated that MT‐FPs acted directly on bone marrow cells to promote MDSC generation and modulated the polymorphonuclear (PMN)‐MDSC/monocyte (M ...

Expression of CXCR4 on feline peripheral blood mononuclear cells: effect of feline immunodeficiency virus infection. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
CXCR4 expression on feline peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) was analyzed. While monocytes and B lymphocytes expressed CXCR4, no CXCR4 was detected on T lymphocytes, in stark contrast to the expression pattern on T lymphocytes from humans.

VITAL COMPUTER MORPHOMETRY OF LIMPHOCYTES IN DIAGNOSIS OF ACUTE RENAL ALLOGRAFT REJECTION

open access: yesВестник трансплантологии и искусственных органов, 2009
The article focuses on the results of the investigation of peripheral blood lymphocyte morphofunctional status in healthy volunteers and renal allograft recipients for early postoperative period. Working out noninvasive tests for diagnosis of acute renal

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

A nonstructural viral protein expressed by a recombinant vaccinia virus protects against lethal cytomegalovirus infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The nonstructural immediate-early protein pp89 of murine cytomegalovirus (MCMV) is the first viral protein synthesized after infection and has a regulatory function in viral gene expression. Despite its localization in the nucleus of infected cells, pp89

Chromosome breakpoint distribution of damage induced in peripheral blood lymphocytes by densely ionising radiation

open access: yes, 2006
Purpose: To assess the chromosomal breakpoint distribution in human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) after exposure to a low dose of high linear energy transfer (LET) α-particles using the technique of multiplex fluorescence in situ hybridisation (m ...

Endothelial cells as targets for antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
BACKGROUND: In this study we have examined human vascular endothelial cells as targets for antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL). Vascular endothelial cells (EC) act as the major interface between blood and tissues and are crucial for the ...
