An advanced method for propargylcholine phospholipid detection by direct-infusion MS

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2021
Phospholipids with a choline head group are an abundant component of cellular membranes and are involved in many important biological functions. For studies on the cell biology and metabolism of these lipids, traceable analogues where propargylcholine ...

Super‐Enhancer‐Driven SOX4/SMAD3 Mediate Membrane Remodeling by Regulating Phospholipid Metabolism to Accelerate Leukemia Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic myeloid leukemia blast phase (CML‐BP) poses a severe therapeutic challenge. This study reveals that the super‐enhancer‐driven transcription factors SOX4 and SMAD3 form a cooperative axis critical for disease progression. They co‐activate the oncogenic kinase AXL and promote phospholipid remodeling via LPCAT1 to facilitate its signaling ...

Role of lysophosphatidic acid in the regulation of uterine leiomyoma cell proliferation by phospholipase D and autotaxin

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2008
Phospholipase D (PLD) hydrolyzes phosphatidylcholine into phosphatidic acid (PA), a lipidic mediator that may act directly on cellular proteins or may be metabolized into lysophosphatidic acid (LPA).

Endogenous Ceramide 24:1 Constrains Th17‐Driven Neutrophilic Inflammation by Antagonizing EP2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cer24:1 levels are reduced in neutrophilic asthma and inversely correlate with disease severity and airway neutrophilia. Restoring Cer24:1 suppresses pathogenic Th17 differentiation by engaging EP2 on CD4+ T cells, thereby dampening the JAK2–STAT3–RORγt axis and reducing IL‐17 production.

Cholesterol esterase action on human high density lipoproteins and inhibition studies: detection by MALDI-TOF MS

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2005
The modification of lipoproteins by lipolytic enzymes such as cholesterol esterase (CEase) is assumed to play an important role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. However, details of the activation and inhibition of CEase are still unknown.

Ferroptosis: The Demise of Cells Through Phospholipid Peroxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The relative abundance of peroxidation‐resistant monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) vs. peroxidation‐sensitive polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) incorporated into phospholipid (PL) is a key determinant of ferroptosis sensitivity, as the peroxidation of PL PUFA acyl chains (PUFA‐PL) disrupts membrane integrity, causing ferroptotic cell death ...

The Involvement of Glycerophospholipids in Susceptibility of Maize to Gibberella Root Rot Revealed by Comparative Metabolomics and Mass Spectrometry Imaging Joint Analysis

open access: yesPlants
Gibberella root rot (GRR), caused by Fusarium graminearum, is one of the major threats to maize production. However, the mechanism underlying maize’s response to GRR is not fully understood.

Chemical mechanism of lysophosphatidylcholine: lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase from rabbit lung. pH-dependence of kinetic parameters [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1990
Lysophosphatidylcholine: lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase is an enzyme that catalyses two reactions: hydrolysis of lysophosphatidylcholine and transacylation between two molecules of lysophosphatidylcholine to give disaturated phosphatidylcholine.

Research progress on biomarkers of traumatic brain injury

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Traumatic brain injury: From primary insult to secondary neuroinflammation and degeneration. Abstract Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common disorder of the nervous system and has become a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, imposing a substantial burden on patients and their social circles. Its main symptoms include dyskinesia, language
