NGC 2419 -- Another Remnant of Accretion by the Milky Way [PDF]

We isolate a sample of 43 upper RGB stars in the extreme outer halo Galactic globular cluster NGC 2419 from two Keck/DEIMOS slitmasks. The probability that there is more than one contaminating halo field star in this sample is extremely low.

Quantifying the Electrophilicity of 9(10H)‐Phenanthrenone‐ and 1‐Acenaphthenone‐Derived α, β‐Unsaturated Ketones

The electrophilicities (Mayr E) of the α, β‐unsaturated ketones A and B were determined by kinetic studies of their reactions with carbanions (reference nucleophiles) in DMSO at 20°C. The different reactivities of A and B were rationalized by DFT calculations.

On the stellar content of the Carina dwarf spheroidal galaxy

We present U,B,V,I photometry of the Carina dwarf spheroidal galaxy, based on more than 4,000 CCD images. Special attention was given to the photometric calibration, and the precision for the B,V,I bands is better than 0.01 mag.
