Lorentz symmetry and IR structure of the BFSS matrix model

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The BFSS matrix model relates flat space M-theory to a large N limit of matrix quantum mechanics describing N non-relativistic D0-branes. M-theory, being a theory of gravity in flat space, has a rich infrared structure that includes various soft theorems

The Moduli Space and M(atrix) Theory of 9d N=1 Backgrounds of M/String Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We discuss the moduli space of nine dimensional N=1 supersymmetric compactifications of M theory / string theory with reduced rank (rank 10 or rank 2), exhibiting how all the different theories (including M theory compactified on a Klein bottle and on a ...

A Mathematical Programming Approach to Brand Efficiency of Smartphones in the US Market

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
This study applied mathematical programming approach to investigate the brand efficiency of smartphone brands by collecting data of 2013–2015 from Consumer Report. The brand efficiency was completed by employing the slack‐based measure in data envelopment analysis.

Aspects of ALE Matrix Models and Twisted Matrix Strings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We examine several aspects of the formulation of M(atrix)-Theory on ALE spaces. We argue for the existence of massless vector multiplets in the resolved $A_{n-1}$ spaces, as required by enhanced gauge symmetry in M-Theory, and that these states might ...

Thermal, chemical and chemothermal denaturation of yeast enolase

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, Volume 17, Issue 2-3, Page 453-467, 2003., 2003
We studied the temperature‒ and denaturant‒induced denaturation of yeast enolase by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The temperature‒induced denaturation/aggregation of the enzyme in the absence of denaturant was highly cooperative and occurred between 55 and 65°C with a midpoint of ~58°C.

Holographic description of M-branes via AdS2

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We study AdS2 × S 4 × S 2 × Σ2 solutions in type IIB string theory arising from D1-D3-NS5 brane intersections. These backgrounds enjoy sixteen supercharges and the corresponding internal geometry is non-compact due to the specific form of the warping w.r.

A Lie Algebra for Closed Strings, Spin Chains and Gauge Theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We consider quantum dynamical systems whose degrees of freedom are described by $N \times N$ matrices, in the planar limit $N \to \infty$. Examples are gauge theoires and the M(atrix)-theory of strings.

Effect of heparin and related glycosaminoglycan on PDGF‐induced lung fibroblast proliferation, chemotactic response and matrix metalloproteinases activity

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, Volume 9, Issue 2, Page 85-91, 2000., 2000
Fibroblast migration, proliferation, extacellular matrix protein synthesis and degradation are the key events in various biological and pathological processes in pulmonary fibrosis. In addition, biopsy specimens from the lungs of patients with plumomary fibrosis show increased numbers of mast cells which have metachromatic granules containing heparin ...

Noncommutative Riemann Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We compactify M(atrix) theory on Riemann surfaces Sigma with genus g>1. Following [1], we construct a projective unitary representation of pi_1(Sigma) realized on L^2(H), with H the upper half-plane. As a first step we introduce a suitably gauged sl_2(R)
