Macrocyclic Compounds Comprising Tris(3-Aminopropyl)Amine Units and Fluorophore Moieties: Synthesis and Spectroscopic Studies in the Presence of Metal Salts

open access: yesChemosensors, 2023
The synthesis of a variety of polyazamacrocyclic compounds comprising structural units of tris(3-aminopropyl)amine (TRPN) and oxadiamines, decorated with one or two fluorophore groups (dansyl or quinoline) at different nitrogen atoms, was carried out ...

TH17–Associated Polyamine Metabolism‐Guided Nanozyme Promotes Alveolar Bone Repair in Periodontitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pronounced TH17‐skewed immune response is identified in experimental periodontitis, and enrichment of the polyamine pathway is observed during TH17 differentiation, suggesting its potential as an immunometabolic target. Inspired by these findings, DFMO@Ui‐Mn is developed as a therapeutic platform combining cascade ROS scavenging with immunometabolic ...

New linked macrocyclic systems derived from selectively protected S2N2 macrocycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Novel application of a protecting group strategy has enabled a simple and efficient synthesis of the new tri-linked S2N2 macrocycles 12, 15, 17 and 20.

Synthesis of Two 2,2′-Bipyridine Containing Macrocycles for the Preparation of Interlocked Architectures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The synthesis and characterisation of two 28-membered, 2,2′-bipyridine-containing macrocycles in high yield is reported. The first imine-containing macrocycle was formed via a Williamson ether synthesis and showed no evidence of higher oligomer formation.

Generation of the Camptothecin Scaffold by a Flavin‐Catalyzed Photooxidative Skeletal Reorganization

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The biosynthetic pathway of the anticancer drug precursor camptothecin involves an enigmatic skeletal reorganization from a 6/5/6 tetrahydro‐β‐carboline to a 6/6/5 pyrroloquinoline ring system. Here, we show that this transformation can be achieved by photooxidation with flavin cofactors, such as flavin mononucleotide (FMN) as catalysts.

Inner-bond-cleavage approach to figure-eight macrocycles from planar aromatic hydrocarbons [PDF]

open access: yes
Contemporary synthetic strategies in organic chemistry rely heavily on the stepwise formation of bonds between fragments of the target compound (‘bottom-up’ approach). Figure-eight aromatic macrocycles represent a considerable challenge for the bottom-up

Multicomponent Syntheses of Macrocycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
How to access efficiently the macrocyclic structure remained to be a challenging synthetic topic. Although many elegant approaches/reactions have been developed, construction of diverse collection of macrocycles is still elusive.

Harnessing the Reactivity of Sulfinate Salts With Cystine: An Umpolung Approach to Residue‐Specific Peptide Modification

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
While cysteine is widely employed as a nucleophilic handle for peptide modification, the electrophilicity of the oxidized form, cystine, is rarely exploited. This study describes a mild, photochemical coupling of sulfinate salts with peptide disulfides.

Tailoring High‐Valent Iron‐Oxo Species Redox via Extended π‐Fe3d–O2p Orbital Overlapping Toward Chemical‐Efficient Water Purification

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We address the long‐standing challenge of reactivity–selectivity trade‐off by precisely tuning the redox properties of Fe(IV), rather than simply accelerating its formation, to enable chemically efficient and low‐emission water treatment. ABSTRACT High‐valent iron oxo species (Fe(IV)) are attractive for wastewater treatment because of their high ...
