Star Formation and Galaxy Dynamo Equations with Random Coefficients

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2015
We study the influence of star formation on magnetic field in galaxies. Two approaches have been used to describe this mechanism. The first one uses some averaged approximate kinematic characteristics that appear in the galactic dynamo equations.

Magnetic field regression using artificial neural networks for cold atom experiments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Accurately measuring magnetic fields is essential for magnetic-field sensitive experiments in fields like atomic, molecular, and optical physics, condensed matter experiments, and other areas. However, since many experiments are conducted in an isolated vacuum environment that is inaccessible to experimentalists, it can be challenging to accurately ...

The Evolution of Surface Magnetic Fields in Young Solar-type Stars [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2013
Surface rotation rates of young solar-type stars display drastic changes at the end of the pre-main sequence through the early main sequence. This may trigger corresponding changes in the magnetic dynamos operating in these stars, which ought to be ...

Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Electroacoustic tomography for real-time visualization of electrical field dynamics in deep tissue during electroporation

open access: yesCommunications Engineering, 2023
Despite the widespread applications of electroporation in biotechnology and medicine, monitoring the distribution of deep tissue electrical fields in real-time during treatment continues to pose a challenge.

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

MAGNETIC FIELDS OF STARS

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2008
Now it is known about 1212 stars of the main sequence and giants (from them 610 stars - it is chemically peculiarity (CP) stars) for which direct measurements of magnetic fields were spent (Bychkov et al.,2008).

Small-scale magnetic buoyancy and magnetic pumping effects in a turbulent convection [PDF]

open access: yesGeophys.Astrophys.Fluid Dynamics 100 (2006) 243-263, 2006
We determine the nonlinear drift velocities of the mean magnetic field and nonlinear turbulent magnetic diffusion in a turbulent convection. We show that the nonlinear drift velocities are caused by the three kinds of the inhomogeneities, i.e., inhomogeneous turbulence; the nonuniform fluid density and the nonuniform turbulent heat flux.

Theory of plasma confinement in non-axisymmetric magnetic fields

open access: yesReports on progress in physics. Physical Society, 2014
The theory of plasma confinement by non-axisymmetric magnetic fields is reviewed. Such fields are used to confine fusion plasmas in stellarators, where in contrast to tokamaks and reversed-field pinches the magnetic field generally does not possess any ...

Cellular liquid biopsy provides unique chances for disease monitoring, preclinical model generation and therapy adjustment in rare salivary gland cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...
