A series of ACHPES‐based hydrogels are developed and realizing multiple functions like anti‐fouling properties, alkali‐induced color/fluorescence‐changing ability and strain sensing. Furthermore, the hydrogels show excellent anti‐freezing performance, whose optical, mechanical and electrical properties remain stable at −47.3 °C.

CD105‐LNPs and PS‐LNPs can deliver α‐lipoic acid to bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and bone marrow‐derived macrophages, reversing high glucose‐induced oxidative stress while enhancing osteogenesis and M2 polarization. Integrating both nanoparticles into glucose‐responsive hyaluronic acid hydrogel forms DLNPs@HA hydrogel, which accelerates diabetic ...

Emoting infertility online: A qualitative analysis of men's forum posts [PDF]
Relatively little research on infertility focuses exclusively or significantly on men’s experiences, particularly in relation to emotional aspects. Evidence that does exist around male infertility suggests that it is a distressing experience for men, due

Microbubble‐Controlled Delivery of Biofilm‐Targeting Nanoparticles to Treat MRSA Infection
Here, an effective strategy using microbubble (MB)‐controlled delivery of biofilm‐targeting nanoparticles (BTNs) for removal and therapy of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) biofilm infections is introduced. In vivo delivery of MB with BTN is demonstrated to silence key bacterial genes involved in biofilm formation (icaA), bacterial ...

Life history and mating systems select for male biased parasitism mediated through natural selection and ecological feedbacks [PDF]
Males are often the "sicker" sex with male biased parasitism found in a taxonomically diverse range of species. There is considerable interest in the processes that could underlie the evolution of sex-biased parasitism. Mating system differences along with differences in lifespan may play a key role.

Schematic illustration of the mechanism of targeted delivery of nanoparticles including 1) paracellular, 2) endolysosomal escape, 3) receptor mediated endocytosis, and 4) M cell mediated transport for non‐GI diseases by oral administration such as atherosclerosis, cancer, diabetes, and brain diseases. Abstract Oral drug delivery is a promising approach

High order multiple births in the Maltese population [PDF]
Triplets are a relatively rare occurrence being encountered in the Maltese Islands with an overall incidence of about 0.1 per 1000 maternities. The incidence appears to be on the increase over the last twenty years rising from the 0.08 per 1000 ...
