The thermal properties of acrylic reactive adhesives modified with maleimides and copolymers of maleimide with methacrylic copolymers are studied. It is shown that such modification allows one to improve the operability of anaerobic and thermosetting adhesives upon exposure to elevated temperatures.

Maleimide-Functionalized Photochromic Spirodihydroindolizines
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2012Two photochromic spirodihydroindolizine/betaine systems for tethering to peptides and proteins via a maleimide function have been prepared. The absorption spectra of the betaines are in the red region of the visible spectrum and in the near-IR spectral domain, which are suitable energies of light for future in vivo applications.

Poly(maleimide-amine)s and poly(maleimide-amine)ethers
European Polymer Journal, 1988Abstract Syntheses and properties of poly(maleimide-amine)s and poly(maleimide-amine)ethers from bischloromaleimide are reported. Three model compounds have been prepared and the polymers have been characterized spectrally by comparison with the model compounds. The polymers possess inherent viscosities in the 0.3 to 0.5 dl/g range.

Blends Based on Copolymers of Methyl Methacrylate with Phenyl Maleimide and Tribromophenyl Maleimide
Macromolecules, 1998The synthesis of methyl methacrylate−phenyl maleimide (MMA−PMI) and methyl methacrylate−tribromophenyl maleimide (MMA−TBPMI) copolymers and the phase behavior of their blends are reported. Copolymer compositions that form miscible binary blends with poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) and polycarbonate (PC) and with copolymers of styrene−acrylonitrile ...

Photosensitized polymerization of maleimide
Transactions of the Faraday Society, 1970The free-radical polymerization of maleimide photosensitized (λ= 4358 A) by manganese carbonyl in the presence of carbon tetrachloride has been studied at 30°C. Kinetic observations have shown that the quantum efficiency of initiation is close to unity and that chain-termination is first-order in propagating radical concentration.

A Sensitive Assay for Maleimide Groups
Bioconjugate Chemistry, 1994A sensitive spectrophotometric assay has been developed for maleimide groups incorporated into proteins. The assay involves the reaction of maleimide with an excess of cysteine and quantitation of the remaining cysteine using an enzymatic assay that is based on the stoichiometric conversion of an inactive disulfide form of papain to the active enzyme ...

Cross-linking reactions in maleimide and bis(maleimide) polymers. An ESR study

Surface-Photopolymerization of Maleimides
1970It has been known for some time that butadiene in contact with metallic substrates polymerizes under the influence of ultraviolet light1. Depositions on various substrates from C4H 6 2,3 , and other diene and vinyl monomers3, and from the perhalogenated monomers C4C16 and C2F 4 2−4 have been described in some detail.

Mechanochemical sulfenylation of maleimides
Green ChemistryA mechanochemical, solvent- and catalyst-free thia-Michael addition enables maleimides' sulfenylation with LiCl as grinding auxiliary. The method often lets product isolation by easy extraction, offering a greener alternative to traditional methods.
