The analysis of material removal rate of WEDM miniature gears

open access: yesEngineering review, 2021
Gear fabrication in wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) plays an important role in manufacturing industries. This paper describes the analysis and optimization of process parameters for the fabrication of spur gear on brass spur gear on brass workpiece (10cmx15cmx6mm) material by wire EDM process.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Influence of pulse repetition rate on morphology and material removal rate of ultrafast laser ablated metallic surfaces

open access: yesOptics and lasers in engineering, 2019
Ultrafast laser ablation is an efficient method for precise micro-machining. Thanks to the recent development of high repetition rate ultrafast lasers, high speed laser scanning of surfaces is more and more employed to generate micro-/nano- surface ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Estimation of material removal rate distribution in double-sided polishing of thick square workpiece considering workpiece attitude

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2019
A workpiece attitude during polishing process is known to affect material removal rate distribution, which is one of the most significant properties in polishing process.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

A progress report on the evaluation of metal cutting coolants [PDF]

open access: yes, 1965
An intensive investigation into the grinding process was carried out in The College of Aeronautics Machine Tools Laboratory during 1955-6. The outcome of this work was a method of evaluating the efficiency of grinding wheel specifications.
