ABSTRACT Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a life‐threatening stroke subtype that lacks effective drug therapy. In the context of ICH, neuroinflammation, and ferroptosis are key contributors to secondary brain injury. In this study, we assessed the neuroprotective effects of matrine (MAT) and its mechanism of action involving the HMGB1/RAGE axis in an ...

Synthesis of Halopyrazole Matrine Derivatives and Their Insecticidal and Fungicidal Activities
Matrine is a traditional botanical pesticide with a broad-spectrum biological activity that is widely applied in agriculture. Halopyrazole groups are successfully introduced to the C13 of matrine to synthesize eight new derivatives with a yield of 78–87%.

The Pharmacological Studies on Matrine and Oxymatrine
Matrine and oxymatrine, major components of Sophora flavescens, were confirmed to have a protective effect on restraint and water immersion stress ulcer in mice. Oxymatrine inhibits the formation of some experimental gastric ulcer, pylorus ligation ulcer and indomethacin ulcer, which are considered to relate to acid secretion. Oxymatrine decreases acid

This review summarizes how active constituents derived from Chinese herbal medicine exert anti‐tuberculosis (TB) effects via immunomodulation, direct inhibition of pathogens, and antioxidant activity. This synergistic, multi‐pathway mechanism highlights their potential as promising therapeutic candidates and adjunctive treatments against drug‐resistant

Matrine alkaloids modulating DNA damage repair in chemoresistant non-small cell lung cancer cells
Background Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) presents a significant challenge in the medical field due to its high incidence and resistance to chemotherapy. Chemoresistance in NSCLC diminishes treatment efficacy and contributes to poor patient outcomes.

Effect of matrine on proliferation and migration of human thyroid cancer cell line TPC-1 [PDF]
Objective To investigate the mechanism of matrine inhibiting the proliferation and migration of thyroid cancer cell line TPC-1 through down-regulated miRNA-182-5p TPC-1. Methods TPC-1 cells were transfected after 24 hours with 0.5 mg/mL matrine or

Chronic inflammation in diabetic foot ulcers elevates MMP activity and suppresses TIMP and growth factor signaling, impairing tissue repair. Phytochemicals modulate NF‐κB/MAPK pathways and enhance Nrf2–TIMP expression, restoring MMP/TIMP balance, promoting collagen deposition, angiogenesis, and re‐epithelialization, leading to effective wound healing ...
