Microblasting Wound Dressings Mechanically Disrupt Polymicrobial Biofilms to Enhance Healing in Treatment‐Resistant Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 50, 7 September 2026.
Treatment‐resistant wounds caused by polymicrobial biofilms are refractory to conventional therapies due to the dense extracellular matrices. We developed μBLAST, a microblasting wound dressing that combines MnO2‐doped biosilica and a H2O2‐releasing mesh to generate localized oxygen microbubbles that mechanically disrupt biofilms.

A dilemma resolved? Towards a revised philosophy of conservation education [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The guidelines for conservation education agreed by the European Confederation of Conservator-restorers’ Organisations’ state that “The only reasonable way of training in conservation/restoration is full time at university level or at an equivalent level,

Biomimetic Hydrogel System Targeting S100A8 Centered Neuroimmune Crosstalk and Hypoxia Induced Neuronal Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 52, 18 September 2026.
A biomimetic hydrogel (HPC@Gel) was developed for traumatic brain injury repair by combining oxygen‐carrying hemoglobin nanoparticles and anti‐inflammatory carbon quantum dots within a brain‐like matrix. The system alleviated hypoxia, reduced harmful neuroimmune signaling, protected neurons, supported neural regeneration, and improved neurological and ...

Epidemiology, genetic dynamics, and transmission of the mcr-1 gene in China

open access: yesEmerging Microbes & Infections
Colistin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that kills bacteria through the disruption of the cell membrane, making it effective against various bacterial infections. Since the first global report of mobile colistin-resistant (mcr-1)-positive bacteria, which were discovered and described by Chinese scientists in 2015, monitoring and research on these ...

A Pathology‐Instructed Theranostic Platform with Mechanoadaptive and ROS‐Powered Nanobreathing Functions for Precision Myocardial Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 53, 24 September 2026.
We developed a pH responsive theranostic serum albumin hydrogel named BST, functionalized with MRI and CT probes and loaded with mitochondria targeted CAT‐SOD nanogels, that rapidly self repairs and mechanically stabilizes the infarcted myocardium, releases therapeutic nanogels and albumin under hypoxia induced acidosis to clear mitochondrial ROS ...

Dissemination dynamics of colistin resistance genes mcr-9 and mcr-10 across diverse Inc plasmid backbones

open access: yesCommunications Medicine
The polymyxin antibiotic colistin is used as a final line of treatment for life threatening infections caused by multidrug resistant and carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative bacteria. Mobile colistin resistance genes mcr-9 and mcr-10 are increasingly detected in Enterobacteriaceae but their epidemiology is poorly understood. The genetic characteristics of

Engineering Antibodies into Targeted Chimeras: From Recognition Modules to Programmable Degraders

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 50, 7 September 2026.
Antibody can be engineered into diverse lysosome‐targeting chimeras that convert target recognition into active degradation. By coupling antibody binding with recruited receptors, encoded domains, conjugated ligands, or nanoparticle scaffolds, these antibody‐associated targeted chimeras (AbTACs) platforms direct extracellular and membrane proteins ...
