Insights into pegRNA design from editing of the cardiomyopathy‐associated phospholamban R14del mutation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how prime editing guide RNA (pegRNA) secondary structure and reverse transcriptase template length affect prime editing efficiency in correcting the phospholamban R14del cardiomyopathy‐associated mutation. Insights support the design of structurally optimized enhanced pegRNAs for precise gene therapy.

Mechanism of action of VP1-001 in cryAB(R120G)-associated and age-related cataracts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
PurposeWe previously identified an oxysterol, VP1-001 (also known as compound 29), that partially restores the transparency of lenses with cataracts. To understand the mechanism of VP1-001, we tested the ability of its enantiomer, ent-VP1-001, to bind ...

Competition for Procurement Shares [PDF]

open access: yes
We propose a new procurement procedure which allocates shares of the total amount to be procured depending on the bids of suppliers. Among the properties of the mechanism are: (i) Bidders have an incentive to participate in the procurement procedure, as ...

A New Approach to Non-Commutative U(N) Gauge Fields

open access: yes, 2010
Based on the recently introduced model of arXiv:0912.2634 for non-commutative U(1) gauge fields, a generalized version of that action for U(N) gauge fields is put forward. In this approach to non-commutative gauge field theories, UV/IR mixing effects are

Single‐cell insights into the role of T cells in B‐cell malignancies

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Single‐cell technologies have transformed our understanding of T cell–tumor cell interactions in B‐cell malignancies, revealing new T‐cell subsets, functional states, and immune evasion mechanisms. This Review synthesizes these findings, highlighting the roles of T cells in pathogenesis, progression, and therapy response, and underscoring their ...

Mechanism of the Vasodilator Action of Pinacidil [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The mechanism of the vasodilator action of pinacidil has been studied in rat mesenteric small arteries. The results show, first, that the use of flux studies to make measurements of ion permeability requires knowledge of the membrane potential ...
