Erythroid and megakaryocytic transformation [PDF]
Red blood cells and megakaryocytes arise from a common precursor, the megakaryocyte-erythroid progenitor and share many regulators including the transcription factors GATA-1 and GFI-1B and signaling molecules such as JAK2 and STAT5. These lineages also share the distinction of being associated with rare, but aggressive malignancies that have very poor ...

Abstract Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is characterized by high genotypic and immunophenotypic heterogeneity. We collected an extensive dataset containing 5366 flow cytometry files from 885 AML patients, stained with the EuroFlow acute leukemia orientation tube (ALOT) and AML/MDS panel, acquired in a standardized way at eight centers over a period of 10

Sub-Cellular Localization of Metalloproteinases in Megakaryocytes
Metalloproteinases (MMPs) are zinc-dependent endopeptidases that play essential roles as the mediator of matrix degradation and remodeling during organogenesis, wound healing and angiogenesis.

Abstract Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is characterized by a lack of a specific targeted treatment and a complex, partially unexplored pathophysiology. Common comorbidities associated with HFpEF are hypertension, atrial fibrillation, obesity and diabetes.

Chronic stressors trigger systemic immune remodeling marked by myeloid expansion and lymphoid suppression, and this immune imbalance subsequently drives tissue pathology through proinflammatory signaling and senescence amplification, with the lung and kidney confirmed as the most vulnerable target organs.

Abstract Early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains challenging because conventional serum biomarkers, especially alpha‐fetoprotein (AFP), show limited sensitivity for early‐stage disease. Recent progress in engineered molecular diagnostics provides new opportunities to improve HCC detection through integrated material, molecular, and ...

Megakaryocytes in the Pulmonary Circulation [PDF]
Abstract The streptolysin 0 hemolysis method for isolation of cancer cells in the blood was employed for direct observations of the incidence and some characteristics of circulating megakaryocytes. In a series of 168 patients, circulating megakaryocytes were found in 77 per cent of the blood samples.

Monocyte inflammation and adaptive immune dysfunction in severe Klebsiella pneumoniae pneumonia
Severe Klebsiella pneumoniae pneumonia combines intense inflammation with failure to control infection, yet the cellular basis is unclear. Using a severity‐focused single‐cell atlas of 708,894 peripheral blood mononuclear cells from 100 individuals, complemented by plasma protein measurements and flow cytometry, we show that disease severity redirects ...

Repeated Exposure to a Hair Bleaching Mixture Alters cGAS–STING Pathway Transcripts in Mice
ABSTRACT Hair bleaching products commonly contain ammonia and hydrogen peroxide, chemicals capable of generating reactive oxygen species (ROS). However, their effects on innate immune signaling pathways associated with DNA damage remain poorly understood.
