Micro RNA based MSC EV engineering: Targeting the BMP2 cascade for bone repair
Mesenchymal stem cell derived extracellular vesicles (MSC EVs) possess excellent immunomodulatory and therapeutic properties. While beneficial, from a translational perspective, extracellular vesicles with consistent functionality and target specificity ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Odontogenic MSC Heterogeneity: Challenges and Opportunities for Regenerative Medicine
Cellular heterogeneity refers to the genetic and phenotypic differences among cells, which reflect their various fate choices, including viability, proliferation, self-renewal probability, and differentiation into different lineages.

Mesenchymal stem cells: From stem cells to sarcomas [PDF]
Abstract Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have garnered vast interests in clinical settings, especially in regenerative medicine due to their unique properties—they are reliably isolated and expanded from various tissue sources; they are able to differentiate into mesodermal tissues such as bones,

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Identification of regulatory factors for mesenchymal stem cell-derived salivary epithelial cells in a co-culture system. [PDF]
Patients with Sjögren's syndrome or head and neck cancer patients who have undergone radiation therapy suffer from severe dry mouth (xerostomia) due to salivary exocrine cell death.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
