A Novel Method for Predicting the Human Inherent Clearance and Its Application in the Study of the Pharmacokinetics and Drug–Drug Interaction between Azidothymidine and Fluconazole Mediated by UGT Enzyme

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2021
In order to improve the benefit–risk ratio of pharmacokinetic (PK) research in the early development of new drugs, in silico and in vitro methods were constructed and improved.

Metabolic Clearance Rate of Oxytocin in Human Subjects

open access: yesFolia Endocrinologica Japonica, 1989
Oxytocin metabolism seems to occur mainly in the kidney and the liver. Placental cystine amino peptidase (CAP), which inactivates oxytocin by cleavage of the bond between the N-terminal cystine residue and adjacent tyrosine, rises progressively with advancing gestation. The role of CAP in oxytocin metabolism is not clear.

Aging-Related Alterations of Glymphatic Transport in Rat: In vivo Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Kinetic Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience, 2022
ObjectiveImpaired glymphatic waste clearance function during brain aging leads to the accumulation of metabolic waste and neurotoxic proteins (e.g., amyloid-β, tau) which contribute to neurological disorders.

A study of estrogen metabolic clearance rates and transfer factors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 1969
We have attempted to measure the metabolic clearance rates (MCR) and the transfer factors of estradiol (E(2)) and estrone (E(1)) during 2-hr and 12-hr infusions. When estradiol-(3)H was infused for 2 hr, apparent equilibrium was reached at 70 min; the 12-hr infusions showed that plasma estradiol-(3)H levels increased slowly throughout the infusion ...

Organic cation transporter 3 (Oct3) is a distinct catecholamines clearance route in adipocytes mediating the beiging of white adipose tissue.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2019
Beiging of white adipose tissue (WAT) is a particularly appealing target for therapeutics in the treatment of metabolic diseases through norepinephrine (NE)-mediated signaling pathways.

Population pharmacokinetic model with time‐varying clearance for lorlatinib using pooled data from patients with non‐small cell lung cancer and healthy participants

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology, 2021
Lorlatinib, a selective inhibitor of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) and c‐ROS oncogene 1 (ROS1) tyrosine kinase, is indicated for the treatment of ALK‐positive metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) following progression on crizotinib and at ...

Clearance tests to assess liver function state of animals using compounds with high hepatic metabolism [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The article is devoted to the study of the medicinal substances metabolism in the liver and the possibility of using clearance tests with lidocaine and caffeine in veterinary medicine. It has been established that liver is the main organ where metabolism

Metabolic clearance and production rates of human growth hormone [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Investigation, 1969
The metabolic clearance rate (MCR) of human growth hormone (HGH) was determined by the constant infusion to equilibrium technique utilizing HGH-(125)I. 22 control subjects had a MCR of 229 +/-52 ml/min (mean +/-SD). No difference was evident between sexes, or between various age groups. Patients with acromegaly demonstrated normal MCR's.
