Time-resolved imaging of non-diffusive carrier transport in long-lifetime halide perovskite thin films

open access: yes, 2019
Owing to their exceptional semiconducting properties, hybrid inorganic-organic perovskites show great promise as photovoltaic absorbers. In these materials, long-range diffusion of charge carriers allows for most of the photogenerated carriers to ...

Insight‐Guided Optimization of the Individual Steps in Ambient Slot‐Die‐Coated Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract presents an integrated workflow for optimizing perovskite thin film fabrication by tuning ink rheology, refining processing parameters, and controlling crystallization. Viscosity control and process optimization precisely regulate wet film thickness and drying time, while crystallization directed by solvent additives yields ...

Whole-molecule disorder of the heterometallic complex diaqua-1κ2O-dichlorido-2κ2Cl-(μ-2-formyl-6-methoxyphenolato-1κ2O1,O2:2κO6){μ-2-methoxy-6-[(methylimino)methyl]phenolato-1κ2N,O1:2κO6}lead(II)nickel(II)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications
The new molecular complex [NiPb(C9H10NO2)(C8H7NO3)Cl2(H2O)2] with the Schiff base 2-methoxy-6-[(methylimino)methyl]phenol and ortho-vanillin ligands, both deprotonated, crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with one molecule per asymmetric ...

Experimental identification of aminomethanol (NH2CH2OH)—the key intermediate in the Strecker Synthesis

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
The Strecker synthesis is considered a viable route to amino acids formation on the primordial Earth. Here the authors succeed in observing its elusive intermediate aminomethanol, formed by insertion of an electronically excited oxygen atom in ...

Preparation of substituted hydrazines [PDF]

open access: yes, 1952
Thesis (M.A.)--Boston UniversityAlthough a large number of substituted hydrazines are known, the preparation of simple monoalkylhydrazines in a manner suitable for the large-scale economical synthesis has never been developed.

Synthesis and Characterization of π‐Extended Azulenes via Nucleophilic Substitution and Intramolecular Cyclization of 5‐Alkynyl‐6‐Fluoroazulenes

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A modular synthetic approach enables the preparation of azulene‐fused heterocycles via nucleophilic aromatic substitution followed by intramolecular cyclization of alkynyl fluoroazulenes. The method allows the incorporation of various heteroatoms (N, O, S, Se, and Te), leading to structurally diverse heteroannulated azulenes.

Fabrication of Tungsten Oxide Nanowalls through HFCVD for Improved Electrochemical Detection of Methylamine

open access: yesMicromachines
In this study, well-defined tungsten oxide (WO3) nanowall (NW) thin films were synthesized via a controlled hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD) technique and applied for electrochemical detection of methylamine toxic substances.

One‐Pot Ruthenium‐Catalyzed Synthesis of Benzyl/Allyl‐Halide Substituted (dihydro)naphthalenes via Radical Benzannulation

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
A one‐pot protocol to synthesize reactive benzyl‐ and allyl‐halide‐substituted (dihydro)naphthalenes from 2,3‐aryl‐1,3‐butadiene substrates and halogenated alkanes has been developed, using [Cp*RuCl(PPh3)2] as the catalyst. Mechanistic studies revealed an atom transfer radical addition and radical benzannulation sequence, followed by HCl elimination ...

Data‐Driven Design of Scalable Perovskite Film Fabrication via Machine Learning–Guided Processing

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Considering complex process parameters and poor reproducibility in perovskite thin film fabrication, this study uses machine learning to analyze and predict high‐dimensional process variables. The Random Forest model, identified as the most effective, can effectively analyze and rapidly predict optimal process parameters from extensive data.
