3-Methylcholanthrene uptake and metabolism in organ culture [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 1975
The uptake of 3-methycholanthrene and its metabolism to water-soluble derivatives were both determined in organ cultures of mouse and rat tissues, including prostate, skin, lung and skeletal muscle. All the tissues concentrated the carcinogen from the medium and metabolized part of it to water-soluble compounds.

In vitro studies on tumor-specific immunity by using C3H mammary cancer-A cells. II. Specificity in growth-inhibition effect of lymph-node cells from sensitized animal on target cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
For purpose to study specificity in the growth inhibition effect of sensitized lymph-node cells on target cells, the regional lymph-node cells obtained from the truly isologous mouse previously inoculated with A strain cells (derived from C3H mouse ...

5-Bromo-2'-deoxyuridine potentiation of transformation of rat-embryo cells induced in vitro by 3-methylcholanthrene: induction of rat leukemia virus gs antigen in transformed cells.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1973
Low-passage rat-embryo cells were not transformed by 3-methylcholanthrene or by 5-bromo-2' deoxyuridine. However, prior treatment with bromodeoxyuridine, followed by treatment with methylcholanthrene, resulted in cell transformation about three ...

Effect of Vitamin E on Carcinogenicity of Methylcholanthrene.

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1962
Discussion and conclusionsThe C57 mice have a low incidence of spontaneous tumors, but respond uniformly well to carcinogens. Age does not seem to be a prominent factor, though more primitive sarcomas are produced in very young mice (10). Mineral oil and tricaprylin, if critically purified, apparently have little or no specific influence on ...

Antibody formation for malignant tumor. II. Antigenicity of Ehrlich ascites tumor lipoprotein [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
A unique low density lipoprotein was obtained from the tumor transplanted with a cultured cell line of Ehrlich ascites tumor, JTC-ll cell. The tumor low density lipoprotein electrophoretically migrated as a single band, and the mobility was different ...

MHC Intratumoral Heterogeneity May Predict Cancer Progression and Response to Immunotherapy

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
An individual tumor can present intratumoral phenotypic heterogeneity, containing tumor cells with different phenotypes that do not present irreversible genetic alterations.

Goiter frequency is more strongly associated with gastric adenocarcinoma than urine iodine level [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Purpose: We designed our study to evaluate the hypothesis that gastric cancer is correlated with iodine deficiency or thyroid dysfunction. Materials and Methods: We investigated the total body iodine reserve, thyroid function status and autoimmune ...

Clonal evolution and progression of 20-methylcholanthrene-induced squamous cell carcinoma of mouse epidermis as revealed by DNA instability and other malignancy markers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Histochemistry, 2009
We examined the clonal evolution of skin malignant lesions by repeated topical applications of 20- methylcholanthrene (20-MC) to the skin, which induces hyperplastic epidermis, papillomatous lesion and invasive carcinoma in mice.

Extraction of SV40 T-antigen from lysates of transformed cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Subcellular fractions from SV-40 transformed hamster lens cells, prepared by chemical extractions, were tested for the presence of T-antigen by immunoautoradiography. Most of the T-antigen was present in the nucleus and was resistant to extraction by 2 M

ATF2 promotes urothelial cancer outgrowth via cooperation with androgen receptor signaling

open access: yesEndocrine Connections, 2018
We investigated the functional role of ATF2, a transcription factor normally activated via its phosphorylation in response to phospho-ERK/MAPK signals, in the outgrowth of urothelial cancer.
