Efeito da acidez e de modificadores orgânicos na determinação de metilxantinas: um experimento de cromatografia liquida de alta eficiência (CLAE) empregando otimização uni e multivariada The role of acidity and organic modifiers in the methylxanthines determination: a HPLC experiment

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2009
In this work a new experiment using HPLC is proposed in order to explore the role of acidity and the organic modifiers in the determination of methylxanthines in tea and coffee.

The Cardiovascular Effects of Methylxanthines

open access: yes, 2010
In the concentration range that is normally achieved in humans, e.g., after the drinking of coffee or in patients treated with theophylline, the cardiovascular effects of methylxanthines are primarily due to antagonism of adenosine A(1) and A(2) receptors.

NMI Regulates Adipose Adaptive Thermogenesis Through TLR4/IRF3 Signaling to Promote Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adipose tissue‐derived NMI is secreted under metabolic stress and suppresses adaptive thermogenesis through TLR4/IRF3 signaling, repressing the PPARα/PGC‐1α/UCP1 thermogenic transcriptional program. Genetic ablation or anti ‐ NMI monoclonal antibody treatment enhances energy expenditure, protects against DIO, and ameliorates adipose tissue inflammation,

To Study the Efficacy and Safety of Doxophylline and Theophylline in Bronchial Asthma [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2015
Background: Asthma is a non communicable chronic disease prevalent all over the world. Two commonly used methylxanthines, theophylline and doxofylline were compared in the study in stable asthmatic patients at recommended doses by various spirometric

Natural Variation of COLD and CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 Coordinately Fine‐Tunes Cold Tolerance and Tea Quality in Tea Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐trait genome‐wide association mapping identifies a central hub regulator, COLD AND CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 (CCR1), and its excellent natural allele variation, coordinately enhancing cold tolerance and promoting catechins biosyntheis. CsCCR1 interacts with CsCBF1/3 and is transcriptionally activated by CsLUX and CsKUA1 to promote catechins ...

MicroRNA‐Seq Analysis Reveals a Critical Role for miR‐222 in Bovine Intramuscular Adipogenesis via the DDIT4/mTORC1 Axis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Schematic diagram illustrating how miR‐222 promotes bovine intramuscular adipogenesis by targeting DDIT4 to activate the mTORC1 signaling pathway. ABSTRACT Intramuscular fat (IMF) is a key determinant of beef quality, particularly with respect to tenderness, flavor, and juiciness.

Pentoxifylline dose finding trial in preterm neonates with suspected late onset sepsis (PTX‐trial)

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aim The aim of this study (PTX‐trial) is to determine the optimal dose of pentoxifylline (PTX) in preterm neonates (gestational age < 30 weeks) with (suspected) late onset sepsis (LONS). Methods The PTX‐trial is a prospective multicentre open‐label sequential dose‐optimization study with an adapted continual reassessment method.

Caffeine formation by suspension cultures of Coffea dewevrei

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2000
The low caffeine content in leaves of C. dewevrei (~ 0.5 mg/g) is due to a low biosynthesis associated with a fast degradation. On the other hand, high biosynthesis and low degradation confer a higher content (~ 8 mg/g) in leaves of C. arabica.
