Δ9 Tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabis extracts differentially improve adipoinsular dysfunction in diet‐induced obesity

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend THC and extract administered to diet‐induced obese mice reduced body weight and fat storage. Extract, but not THC, improved glucose clearance by a mechanism that may include restoring adipoinsular function. Abstract Diet‐induced obesity (DIO) is associated with dysregulated adipoinsular axis and endocannabinoid system (eCBS ...

The selective degradation of PDE4B shortform, using a PROTAC, leads to inhibition of several hallmarks of cancer in HCT116 cells

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 18, Page 5516-5540, September 2026.
Background and Purpose Colorectal cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers worldwide, and novel precision medicine approaches are rapidly improving patient outcomes. Phosphodiesterase 4B (PDE4B) is a member of an enzyme family (PDE4) that hydrolyses intracellular cAMP to control spatial and temporal signalling cues.

Multi‐Omics Profiling Reveals Immunomodulatory and Pro‐Regenerative Effects of a Graphene Oxide–Collagen Scaffold in Massive Rotator Cuff Tears

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
A graphene oxide/collagen scaffold is developed for chronic massive rotator cuff tear repair. The scaffold improves compressive stability, supports reparative mesenchymal differentiation, and modulates the immune microenvironment. In chronic MRCT models, it reduces muscle degeneration, enhances tendon–bone regeneration, and improves functional recovery,

Immortalization of Adipose‐Derived Stromal Cells From Japanese Black Cattle

open access: yesCell Biology International, Volume 50, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Adipose tissue plays a critical role in determining the characteristic palatability of Japanese Black cattle beef, including its distinctive aroma, tenderness, and flavor. These quality traits are closely associated with adipogenic differentiation and lipid metabolism; however, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain poorly understood ...

PharmVar GeneFocus: CYP1A2—Clinical Impact, Genetic Variation, and Updated Nomenclature

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 120, Issue 2, Page 313-323, August 2026.
The Pharmacogene Variation Consortium (PharmVar) provides nomenclature for the highly polymorphic human CYP1A2 gene. CYP1A2 plays a crucial role in the biotransformation of several commonly used drugs, including antipsychotics, antidepressants, anxiolytics, and methylxanthines.

Influence of Cocoa Liquor Origin on Cocoa Butter Composition and Color, Texture, and Rheological Properties of Milk and Dark Chocolates: A Preliminary Study

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study compared cocoa liquors from Ecuador, Ghana, and Côte d'Ivoire and evaluated their effects on the color, textural, and rheological properties of milk and dark chocolates. The results showed that cocoa origin influenced cocoa liquor characteristics and contributed to differences in chocolate quality.
