[The effects of mexidol in pain syndromes].

Models of neuropathic pain syndrome and adjuvant arthritis were used to study the effect of mexidole, an antioxidant from the 3-hydroxypyridine group. Mexidole was indicated to produce no preventive effect in pain syndromes, but to exhibit a therapeutic one.

[Effectiveness of mexidol in acute pancreatitis].

[Gastroprotective properties of mexidol and hypoxen].

Experimental damage in the stomach mucosa of test rats was modeled by acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin-induced ulcerogenesis). The number of ulcers and the total area of erosive injury in the mucous membrane were studied. Prophylactic treatment with mexidol and hypoxen in a daily dose of 50 mg/kg reduces the aspirin-induced damage of stomach mucosa.

[The use of mexidol in psychiatric practice].

[Cerebrovascular and antiserotoninergic activity of the combination of tropoxin and mexidol].

The results of experiments on narcotized rats showed that tropoxin substantially reduces the constrictor reactions of cerebral blood vessels to meta-chlorophenylpiperazine, while not increasing the blood flow in the carotid system of either intact rats or animals with model ischemic damage of brain.
