Quantitative Analysis of the Antioxidant Activity of Mexidol

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal, 2021
The antioxidant activity of the drug Mexidol was quantitatively measured using an objective method. The rate constant for the reaction of Mexidol with peroxyl radicals of 1,4-dioxane was measured in 1,4-dioxane solution. Mexidol was found to inhibit oxidation of 1,4-dioxane and showed good antioxidant activity comparable to that of ionol.

Antihypoxic and Antinecrotic Effect of Mexidol in Skin Ischemia

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2005
Course treatment with mexidol in a dose of 25 mg/kg for 3 days decreased activities of aspartate transaminase and creatine phosphokinase in the plasma on day 3 after the incidence of skin ischemia (by 1.3 and 1.66 times, respectively). Under these conditions the index of cytolysis decreased by 1.3 times.

The possibilities of Mexidol usage in neuropediatrics

S.S. Korsakov Journal of Neurology and Psychiatry, 2023
Mexidol (ethylmethylhydroxypyridine succinate) is a modern neurometabolic medication increasingly being used in neuropediatrics. The results of recent studies confirming the positive effects of Mexidol pharmacotherapy in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), perinatal damages of the central nervous system (hypoxic-ischemic ...

The efficacy and safety study of Mexidol and Mexidol FORTE 250 in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia

Zhurnal nevrologii i psikhiatrii im. S.S. Korsakova, 2021
To study the efficacy and safety of sequential MexidoL therapy, administered intravenously (500 mg once a day) for 14 days, followed by taking the oral form Mexidol FORTE 250 at a dose of 250 mg (1 tablet) 3 times a day for 60 days in elderly patients with chronic cerebral ischemia (CCI) on the background of arterial hypertension and atherosclerosis. An

Study of the efficacy and safety of sequential use of the drugs Mexidol and Mexidol FORTE 250 in the treatment of stroke

Zhurnal nevrologii i psikhiatrii im. S.S. Korsakova, 2022
To evaluate the effect of Mexidol on the recovery of cognitive functions in patients after ischemic stroke (IS).We examined 70 patients with acute IS, who were randomized into 2 groups by random sampling; The 1st group consisted of patients who, against the background of the main standard therapy for 14 days, received Mexidol intravenously, 500 mg 1 ...

Voltammetric Determination of Mexidol

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal, 2005
A new voltammetric method for determining mexidol in pharmaceuticals is proposed. Using this technique, mexidol was determined in model solutions (with RS = of 1-6%) and in a ready-to-use preparation. The analytical range of mexidol determination using a glassy carbon composite electrode in 0.1 M H2SO4 extends from 4.8 × 10-3 to 1.8 × 10-2 M.

Experience with mexidol in neurological practice

Zhurnal nevrologii i psikhiatrii im. S.S. Korsakova, 2018
Antihypoxic, antioxidant and nootropic effects of mexidol contribute to the improvement of patients with cerebrovascular pathology. The results of clinical studies show that the sequential scheme of using mexidol (first i.v. or i.m., then per os) is effective in the complex therapy of ischemic diseases of the brain, vascular surgery, therapy and ...
