This work presents use of MFF (Matrix of function and functionality) method in conceptual design stage. Compared to the morphological matrix, MFF is structured as multidimensional matrix, which according to mathematical model presented in this work, generates a functional structure as multilayer functional structure.

Rab8a‐dependent tethering of lipid droplets to mitochondria sustains fatty acid oxidation and cardiomyocyte metabolic flexibility under normoxia. During hypoxia/reoxygenation, Rab8a loss and PLIN5‐associated lipophagy uncouple lipid breakdown from mitochondrial utilization, driving lipotoxicity and cell death.

Dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1) is the GTP-hydrolyzing mechanoenzyme that catalyzes mitochondrial fission in the cell. Residing in the cytosol as dimers and tetramers, Drp1 is recruited by receptors on the mitochondrial outer membrane, where it further assembles into a helical ring that drives division via GTP-dependent constriction.
