Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Cathepsin S regulates class II MHC processing in human CD4+ HLA-DR+ T cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
July 15, 2010Although it has long been known that human CD4+ T cells can express functional class II MHC molecules, the role of lysosomal proteases in the T cell class II MHC processing and presentation pathway is unknown.

MHC class I and class II structures

open access: yesCurrent Opinion in Immunology, 1997
The basic structures of MHC class I and class II molecules are now well established. Over the past twelve months structural data on MHC class I molecules have provided details of the peptide binding groove for a number of alleles and have elaborated the mechanisms that allow binding of a range of peptides.

Systemic T Cell Receptor Profiling Reveals Adaptive Immune Activation and Potential Immune Signatures of Diagnosis and Brain Atrophy in Epilepsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Epilepsy is increasingly associated with immune dysregulation and inflammation. The T cell receptor (TCR), a key mediator of adaptive immunity, shows repertoire alterations in various immune‐mediated diseases. The unique TCR sequence serves as a molecular barcode for T cells, and clonal expansion accompanied by reduced overall TCR ...

Ubiquitin-dependent control of class II MHC localization is dispensable for antigen presentation and antibody production. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Controlled localization of class II MHC molecules is essential for proper class II MHC-restricted antigen presentation and the subsequent initiation of an adaptive immune response.

Identification of MHC Class II Binders/ Non-binders using Negative Selection Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The identification of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class-II restricted peptides is an important goal in human immunological research leading to peptide based vaccine design. These MHC class–II peptides are predominantly recognized by CD4+

A pentapeptide as minimal antigenic determinant for MHC class I-restricted T lymphocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Peptides that are antigenic for T lymphocytes are ligands for two receptors, the class I or II glycoproteins that are encoded by genes in the major histocompatibility complex, and the idiotypic / chain T-cell antigen receptor1–9. That a peptide must bind

SNUPN‐Related Muscular Dystrophy: Novel Phenotypic, Pathological and Functional Protein Insights

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SNUPN‐related muscular dystrophy or LGMDR29 is a new entity that covers from a congenital or childhood onset pure muscular dystrophy to more complex phenotypes combining neurodevelopmental features, cataracts, or spinocerebellar ataxia. So far, 12 different variants have been described.

Copy Number Variants and Their Association With Intracerebral Hemorrhage Risk: A Case–Control Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and lacks effective therapeutic interventions. Despite previous studies, the genetic underpinnings of ICH remain poorly understood. We sought to investigate the role of copy number variants (CNVs) in ICH pathophysiology to identify novel ...

Immunological Functions of the Membrane Proximal Region of MHC Class II Molecules [version 1; referees: 3 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2016
Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II molecules present exogenously derived antigen peptides to CD4 T cells, driving activation of naïve T cells and supporting CD4-driven immune functions.
