Abstract Background Ascorbic acid 2‐glucoside (AA2G) is a stabilized form of ascorbic acid and a potent antioxidant. Ascorbic acid is present in the testes and epididymis and helps maintain the physiological integrity of reproductive organs. Its properties have been utilized to protect spermatozoa of different species from oxidative stress.

Abstract Background and Purpose Whereas biased agonism on the 5‐HT2A receptor has been ascribed to hallucinogenic properties of psychedelics, no information about biased inverse agonism on this receptor is available. In schizophrenia, increased 5‐HT2A receptor constitutive activity has been suggested, highlighting the therapeutic relevance of inverse ...

Irf3 polymorphism alters induction of interferon beta in response to Listeria monocytogenes infection. [PDF]
Genetic makeup of the host plays a significant role in the course and outcome of infection. Inbred strains of mice display a wide range of sensitivities to Listeria monocytogenes infection and thus serve as a good model for analysis of the effect of ...

Energy Balance in Cell Phone Radiofrequency Radiation Exposed Mice and Rats [PDF]
The National Toxicology Program exposed mice and rats to cell phone radiofrequency radiation. They observer cancers in male rats but not in male mice and different increases in body temperature between mice and rats using identical frequency and intensity exposures.

Abstract Background and Purpose Immune checkpoint inhibitors, such as antiPD1, revolutionized melanoma treatment. However, resistance and low response rates remain problems. Our goal was to pinpoint actionable biomarkers of resistance to anti‐PD1 treatment and verify therapeutic effectiveness in vivo.

Quantitative trait loci for tibial bone strength in C57BL/6J and C3H/HeJ inbred strains of mice [PDF]
Three-point bending technology has been widely used in the measurement of bone strength. Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for bone strength have been identified using mouse femurs. In this study, we investigate the use of mouse tibiae in identification of QTLs that regulate bone strength. Mouse tibiae were from a F(2) population derived from C57BL/6J (B6)

We report an individual with mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIB and chronic pancytopenia. Hematological studies in a mouse model revealed microcytic anemia and decreased monocyte count. Hence, pancytopenia is thought to be secondary to mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIB, and we suggest that a complete blood count should be included in the clinical ...

Lack of class I H-2 antigens in cells transformed by radiation leukemia virus is associated with methylation and rearrangement of H-2 DNA [PDF]
Transformation of murine thymocytes by radiation leukemia virus is associated with reduced expression of the class I antigens encoded in the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) and increased methylation and altered restriction enzyme patterns of MHC ...
