Highly Variable Genomic Landscape of Endogenous Retroviruses in the C57BL/6J Inbred Strain, Depending on Individual Mouse, Gender, Organ Type, and Organ Location. [PDF]
Transposable repetitive elements, named the "TREome," represent ~40% of the mouse genome. We postulate that the germ line genome undergoes temporal and spatial diversification into somatic genomes in conjunction with the TREome activity.

Genetic dependence of central corneal thickness among inbred strains of mice.
PURPOSE Central corneal thickness (CCT) exhibits broad variability. For unknown reasons, CCT also associates with diseases not typically considered corneal, particularly glaucoma.

Glucose Absorption in Highly Inbred Strains of Mice.
Conclusions1. Glucose absorption in the mouse has been studied. Increasing the concentration of administered solution results in an increase in the amount of glucose absorbed. 2. Glucose solutions of 75% concentration were absorbed somewhat more readily by mice of the C57 strain than by those of the A strain (p = 0.015). 3.

Presbycusis: Pathology, Signal Pathways, and Therapeutic Strategy
In ARHL, the stria vascularis, acting as a cochlear battery, gradually loses its ability to maintain the endocochlear potential, leading to impaired hair cell function and progressive hearing loss. Single‐cell sequencing reveals age‐related cellular changes in the cochlea, providing insights into the underlying mechanisms of aging and potential ...

Influence of Trypanosoma cruzi strain on the pathogenesis of chronic myocardiopathy in mice
The murine model of chronic Chaga's myocardiopathy was developed in 201 inbred and outbred mice. The experimental groups consisted of 1st: 73 inbred AKR and A/J mice inoculated with one of the following.

Experimentation with Animals: A Key Aspect of the 3Rs. The Genetic Quality [PDF]
The genetic quality of laboratory animals is essential for reproducibility of scientific research. Working with animals of certifiedgenetic quality is still a pending issue in Argentina due to the lack of routine genetic controls, of information on the ...

Gentle Label‐Free Nonlinear Optical Imaging Relaxes Linear‐Absorption‐Mediated Triplet
The phototoxicity in nonlinear optical microscopy arises mainly from linear absorption of intrinsic biomolecules rather than nonlinear absorption. This mechanism is supported by a reproducible phototoxicity assay based on widely available chicken breast.
