Preparation of new type of organocatalysts having a carbohydrate scaffold [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The synthesis of nine new, bifunctional organocatalysts having carbohydrate scaffolds has been accomplished. In these catalysts both of the catalytic amino and thiourea functions are directly attached to a carbohydrate core.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

One-pot asymmetric cyclocarbohydroxylation sequence for the enantioselective synthesis of functionalised cyclopentanes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
International audienceA new method has been developed for the enantioselective synthesis of highly functionalised cyclopentanes bearing up to three stereogenic centres with very high stereoselectivity.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

9-(4-Hydroxybutyl)-3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-3,4,5,6,7,9-hexahydro-1H-xanthene-1,8(2H)-dione

open access: yesMolbank, 2016
The title compound 9-(4-hydroxybutyl)-3,3,6,6-tetramethyl-3,4,5,6,7,9-hexahydro-1H-xanthene-1,8(2H)-dione was synthesized in 72% yield through a simple, convenient and environmentally friendly one-pot reaction between dimedone and 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyran in

Enantioselectivity investigation of short polar peptides with different positions in the Michael reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This work reports the effectiveness of short polar peptides as asymmetric catalysts in Michael reactions to attain good yields of enantio- and diastereoselective isomers.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

α(δ')-Michael Addition of Alkyl Amines to Dimethyl (E)-hex-2-en-4-ynedioate: Synthesis of α,β-Dehydroamino Acid Derivatives

open access: yesMolecules, 2013
The direct nucleophilic addition of alkyl amines to the α(δ')-carbon atom of dimethyl (E)-hex-2-en-4-ynedioate to generate α,β-dehydroamino acid derivatives is reported.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...
