A preliminary transcriptomic approach to elucidate post harvest ripening of plum fruit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aim of the present study was to dissect common and/or diverse mechanisms regulating plum (Prunus salicina) fruit ripening in genotypes characterized by different patterns of ethylene production. Fruit of an ethylenesuppressed cultivar ('Shiro') and a

Protein Microarrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Protein microarrays containing nearly the entire yeast proteome have been constructed. They are typically prepared by overexpression and high-throughput purification and printing onto microscope slides. The arrays can be used to screen nearly the entire proteome in an unbiased fashion and have enormous utility for a variety of applications.

Gut Microbiota as an Epigenetic Regulator: Pilot Study Based on Whole-Genome Methylation Analysis

open access: yesmBio, 2014
The core human gut microbiota contributes to the developmental origin of diseases by modifying metabolic pathways. To evaluate the predominant microbiota as an epigenetic modifier, we classified 8 pregnant women into two groups based on their dominant ...

Statistical calibration of qRT-PCR, microarray and RNA-Seq gene expression data with measurement error models

open access: yes, 2014
The accurate quantification of gene expression levels is crucial for transcriptome study. Microarray platforms are commonly used for simultaneously interrogating thousands of genes in the past decade, and recently RNA-Seq has emerged as a promising ...

DACH1 suppresses breast cancer as a negative regulator of CD44. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Dachshund homolog 1 (DACH1), a key cell fate determination factor, contributes to tumorigenesis, invasion, metastasis of human breast neoplasm. However, the exact molecular mechanisms for the anti-tumor roles of DACH1 in breast carcinoma are still lack ...

Lectin microarray [PDF]

open access: yesPROTEOMICS – Clinical Applications, 2009
AbstractLectin microarray is a new technology that utilizes a panel of lectins immobilized on well‐defined substrate for high‐throughout analysis of glycans and glycoproteins. In this article, we have reviewed the fabrication and detection schemes in lectin microarray and discussed its novel applications in glycomics. We have also demonstrated a lectin

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Increased Interleukin-11 and Stress-Related Gene Expression in Human Endothelial and Bronchial Epithelial Cells Exposed to Silver Nanoparticles

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2021
This article aimed to identify and distinguish the various responses to silver nanoparticles (NPs) of endothelial and epithelial cells. We also assessed the significantly increased gene expression levels, as shown by microarray analysis. We evaluated the
