Event traffic forecast for metropolitan areas based on microscopic simulation [PDF]
It is shown that a traditional travel demand forecast combined with a simulationbased approach can serve as a short-term forecast for the traffic situation.

Nuclear α-cluster structures from valence-space microscopic cluster model
Alpha clustering is an important dynamic in nuclear physics, with growing interest to its study in heavy nuclei in recent years. Theoretically, the microscopic cluster models taking nucleons as relevant degrees of freedom have been widely used to study α-

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

An attempt to unify some population growth models from first principles
In this work, some phenomenological growth models based only on the population information (macroscopic level) are deduced in an intuitive way. These models, for instance Verhulst, Gompertz and Bertalanffy-Richards models, are introduced in such a way ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

We study nature of the low-lying resonance states in mirror nuclei 9Be and 9B. Investigations are performed within a three-cluster model. The model make uses of the hyperspherical harmonics, which provide convenient description of three-cluster continuum.

Damage analysis of solid propellants with default defects based on macro-microscopic approach
Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs) rely on solid propellants, directly impacting the energy capacity of launch vehicles. High energy density material (HEDM) propellant exhibits superior energy density owing to the incorporation of a substantial quantity of ...

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

A microscopic CA model of traffic flow? [PDF]
Cellular automaton (CA) models of traffic flow are typically constructed to reproduce macroscopic features of traffic flow. Here, a few thoughts based on real car-following data are presented that show how to construct a discrete time / discrete space

Large-scale microscopic traffic simulation based on license plate recognition data and OpenStreetMap
Microscopic traffic simulation can provide scientific support for traffic design, traffic planning, traffic monitoring, and traffic demand management, and how to construct accurate and efficient microscopic traffic simulation is an important research ...
