Microscopic Derivation of a Traffic Flow Model with a Bifurcation

open access: yesArchive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis
The goal of the paper is a rigorous derivation of a macroscopic traffic flow model with a bifurcation or a local perturbation from a microscopic one. The microscopic model is a simple follow-the-leader with random parameters. The random parameters are used as a statistical description of the road taken by a vehicle and its law of motion.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Comparison of Microscopic Drivers' Probabilistic Lane-changing Models With Real Traffic Microscopic Data

open access: yes, 2011
The difficulties of microscopic-level simulation models to accurately reproduce real traffic phenomena stem not only from the complexity of calibration and validation operations, but also from the structural inadequacies of the sub-models themselves ...

Effects of IGFBP4 deficiency on human preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation through the IGF1R/AKT pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

Enhanced Social Force Model for Microscopic Traffic Flow Simulation in Mixed Traffic Scenarios

open access: yesPromet (Zagreb)
With the widespread adoption of e-bikes, mixing with cars is becoming increasingly common, which raises concerns about traffic safety and efficiency.

Calibrating microscopic traffic models with macroscopic data

open access: yesCoRR
Traffic microsimulation is a crucial tool that uses microscopic traffic models, such as car-following and lane-change models, to simulate the trajectories of individual agents. This digital platform allows for the assessment of the impact of emerging technologies on transportation system performance.

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Using Probe Counts to Provide High-Resolution Detector Data for a Microscopic Traffic Simulation

open access: yesVehicles
Microscopic traffic simulations have become increasingly important for research targeting connected vehicles. They are especially appreciated for enabling investigations targeting large areas, which would be practically impossible or too expensive in the

Review of Data Collection Methods for Microscopic Traffic Simulation

open access: yes, 2004
Research into developing more reliable microscopic traffic simulation models is seriously hampered by the availability of suitable microscopic data for calibration and validation purposes.

Latent Heat of a Traffic Model

open access: yes, 2013
We have studied the optimal velocity model (Bando et al., Jpn J Indust Appl Math 11:203, 1994; Phys Rev E 51:1035, 1995; J Phys I Fr 5:1389, 1995) for highway traffic. On a microscopic level, traffic flow is described by Bando's optimal velocity model in
