Atherosclerotic Conditions Promote the Packaging of Functional MicroRNA-92a-3p Into Endothelial Microvesicles

open access: yesCirculation Research, 2019
Rationale: Microvesicle-incorporated microRNAs (miRs) are biomarkers and effectors of cardiovascular disease. Whether microvesicle-miR expression is regulated in coronary artery disease (CAD) or not is unknown.

Encapsulation of Small Extracellular Vesicles into Selectively Disassemblable Shells of PEGylated Metal‐Phenolic Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are encapsulated into protective shells composed of metal‐phenolic networks (MPNs) and secondary poly(ethylene glycol) layers. This surface modification approach enhances the storage stability of sEVs while maintaining their integrity and functionality. The shells can be selectively disassembled under mild conditions.

Oral Protein Therapy for the Future - Transport of Glycolipid-Modified Proteins: Vision or Fiction? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The reliable and early diagnosis of common complex multifactorial diseases depends on the individual determination of all (or as many as possible) polymorphisms of each susceptibility gene together with amount and type of the corresponding gene products ...

Caveolin-1 selectively regulates microRNA sorting into microvesicles after noxious stimuli

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Medicine, 2019
Extracellular vesicle (EV)–cargo miRNAs mediate intercellular communications. How cells selectively sort the miRNAs into EVs remains unclear. Lee et al. demonstrate a novel mechanism by which functional miRNAs are selectively sorted into EVs via caveolin-

Effect of microvesicles from Moringa oleifera containing miRNA on proliferation and apoptosis in tumor cell lines

open access: yesCell Death Discovery, 2020
Human microvesicles are key mediators of cell–cell communication. Exosomes function as microRNA transporters, playing a crucial role in physiological and pathological processes.

Microvesicles and chemokines in tumor microenvironment: mediators of intercellular communications in tumor progression

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2019
Increasing evidence indicates that the ability of cancer cells to convey biological information to recipient cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME) is crucial for tumor progression.

Sialic Acid Glycobiology Unveils Trypanosoma cruzi Trypomastigote Membrane Physiology. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Trypanosoma cruzi, the flagellate protozoan agent of Chagas disease or American trypanosomiasis, is unable to synthesize sialic acids de novo. Mucins and trans-sialidase (TS) are substrate and enzyme, respectively, of the glycobiological system that ...

Investigation on the Influence of Protein Corona and Platelet Adhesion on Storage Bag Surface on the Platelet Storage Lesion

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Platelet quality deteriorates during storage due to protein and platelet adhesion to current bag materials. Here, polymer coatings are identified that reduce adhesion and translated them to mini‐storage bags. Platelet quality are not impacted, despite significantly reducing adhesion.

Microvesicles derived from leukocytes in the peripheral blood of patients with external genital endometriosis

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология, 2022
Endometriosis is a chronic gynecological disease, which poses a serious problem in terms of diagnosis and treatment. Despite decades of research, there are no specific signs and symptoms and no blood tests to clinically confirm the diagnosis, which makes
