A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

The stability of fatty acids in yoghurts produced from bulk milk samples intentionally selected according to dairy production systems

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science
The fatty acid (FA) composition of milk fat can be positively influenced by the modification of dairy farming and the possible selection of raw material for processing.

Breast Milk Microbiota Is Shaped by Mode of Delivery and Intrapartum Antibiotic Exposure

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition, 2019
The mode of delivery has been suggested to modulate the bacterial composition of breast milk but the impact of intrapartum antibiotic use on the milk microbiota is currently not known.

Lipidome analysis of milk composition in humans, monkeys, bovids, and pigs

open access: yesBMC Evolutionary Biology, 2020
Background Lipids contained in milk are an essential source of energy and structural materials for a growing neonate. Furthermore, lipids’ long-chain unsaturated fatty acid residues can directly participate in neonatal tissue formation.

NMR-based metabolomics to evaluate the milk composition from Friesian and autochthonous cows of Northern Italy at different lactation times

open access: yesNatural Product Research, 2019
It is well established that different factors affect milk composition in cows and that milk composition, in turn, affect both technological and nutritional qualities.

Comparison of nutritional composition between plant-based drinks and cow’s milk

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition, 2022
The high decline in liquid milk consumption in Western countries has been compensated by the increased consumption of processed dairy products and the rapidly increasing number of new plant-based beverages constantly introduced in the market, advertised ...

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

The Impact of Maternal Age on Human Milk Composition

open access: yesBiomedical Sciences and Clinical Medicine, 2022

A New Direction for the Payment of Milk: Technological and Seasonality Considerations in Multiple Component Milk Pricing of Milk (Liquid and Manufacturing) for a Diversifying Dairy Industry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
End of project reportThe main objectives of this study were to compare a Multiple Component Pricing system with the current milk pricing practice in Ireland and to estimate the marginal values of the three main milk components (fat, protein and lactose ...
