Preparation of the Bifidus Milk Powder

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1988
Malt extract and skim milk were used as the culture medium for bifidobacteria. Bifidobacterium longum E194b (ATCC 15707) selected from among four strains grew well in a nitrogen atmosphere regardless of the initial dissolved oxygen level of the culture medium. The optimum temperature range for growth was 34 to 37 degrees C.

Evaluation of Cronobacter sakazakii inactivation and physicochemical property changes of non-fat dry milk powder by cold atmospheric plasma.

open access: yesFood Chemistry, 2019
Cronobacter sakazakii can cause life-threatening infections in neonates. Exposure to contaminated powdered food, especially milk powder, is a major route for C. sakazakii infection.

SERS Facemask for Rapid and Portable Sensing Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Antigens for TB Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Our study introduced an Au─Ag embedded covalent organic framework (U@COF) ‐mediated facemask for sensing TB antigen ESAT‐6/CFP‐10 complex in clinical droplet samples toward TB screening. Practical analysis of clinical samples demonstrated the availability of our facemask, which is capable of identifying the TB subjects (N = 17) from healthy candidates (

Multi‐Omics Insights Into the Mechanisms of Early Muscle Fiber Difference and Transformation Between Lean‐Type and Chinese Indigenous Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐omics analyses uncover breed‐specific cis‐regulatory landscapes and higher‐order chromatin architectural differences that underlie early postnatal muscle fiber divergence in pigs. A super‐enhancer upstream of PPP3CB recruits MEF2C to activate PPP3CB transcription, while the PPP3CB–MEF2C positive feedback loop promotes oxidative muscle fiber ...

Effects of maltodextrin in freeze drying on the physical and functional properties of different type of milk powder

open access: yesCogent Food & Agriculture
This study examines the impact of maltodextrin concentration (0%-20%) on the physical and functional properties of freeze-dried cow and mare milk powder.

Dielectric properties, effect of geometry, and quality changes of whole, nonfat milk powder and their mixtures associated with radio frequency heating

open access: yesJournal of Food Engineering, 2019
Radio frequency (RF) heating is a promising pasteurization technique providing a fast and more uniform heat generation throughout a sample. In this paper, the effect of composition, frequency (1–30 MHz) and temperature (20–90 °C) on the dielectric ...

An investigation of milk powder deposition on parallel fins

open access: yes, 2012
One method to reduce the energy consumption of industrial milk spray dryers is to recover waste heat from the exhaust dryer air. A significant challenge associated with this opportunity is the air contains a small amount of powder that may deposit on the

Bioorthogonal Fluorogenic Reporters for Noninvasive Imaging and Urinalysis of Immunotherapeutic Response in Renal Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reported renal‐clearable bio‐orthogonal near‐infrared fluorogenic probes (BGRs) that specifically imaging and urinalysis of granzyme B for dynamic evaluation of RCC immunotherapy. BGRs not only differentiate immunotherapeutic responses in orthotopic RCC mice, but also enable sensitive optical urinalysis of granzyme B in clinical specimens ...

Dry inoculation methods for nonfat milk powder.

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 2019
Carriers with inoculated microorganisms are often used to validate low-moisture food safety interventions. In this study, we evaluated dry inoculation methods using silicon dioxide (SiO2) and a small portion of nonfat milk powder (NFMP) as dry carriers ...

Heat Integrated Milk Powder Production

open access: yes, 2014
Dairy processing is critical to New Zealand’s (NZ) economy producing NZ$13 billion in exports for 2012 while consuming 32 PJ of fossil fuels for process heat. Three quarters of NZ dairy exports are milk powders.
