The Computational Diet: A Review of Computational Methods Across Diet, Microbiome, and Health. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Food and human health are inextricably linked. As such, revolutionary impacts on health have been derived from advances in the production and distribution of food relating to food safety and fortification with micronutrients. During the past two decades,

Gut Microbiota‐Derived Anandamide Mediates the Therapeutic Effects of Urolithin A on Alcohol‐Induced Cognitive and Social Dysfunction via CB1R‐DRD2‐RAP1 Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that Urolithin A (UA) counteracts alcohol‐induced cognitive and social dysfunction (AICSD) via a gut microbiome‐dependent mechanism. UA‐enriched Bacteroids sartorii and Parabacteroids distasonis elevate anandamide (AEA), which activates the CB1R‐DRD2‐Rap1 signaling cascade to drive synaptic repair and reduce neuroinflammation ...

Predictors of inadequate minimum acceptable diet among infants and young children in Ethiopia: a multilevel logistic regression analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Public Health
BackgroundInadequate minimum acceptable diet is the cause of poor physical and mental development and poses a significant burden among infants and young children aged between 6 and 23 months. The primary purpose of this study was to determine the factors

Cancer Cell‐Intrinsic Cholesterol Induces Lipid‐Associated Macrophage Differentiation via SP1 Palmitoylation to Promote Prostate Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cancer cell‐intrinsic cholesterol promotes the S‐palmitoylation of SP1, increasing its nuclear translocation and driving the transcription and secretion of MDK, which in turn facilitates the differentiation of macrophages into a lipid‐associated phenotype.

Within-guild dietary discrimination from 3-D textural analysis of tooth microwear in insectivorous mammals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Resource exploitation and competition for food are important selective pressures in animal evolution. A number of recent investigations have focused on linkages between diversification, trophic morphology and diet in bats, partly because their roosting ...

Hubungan Maternal Dietary Diversity terhadap Minimum Acceptance Diet pada Anak dalam Pencegahan Stunting: Systematic Review

open access: yesAmerta Nutrition

A Novel Function of Nonadecanoic Acid in Regulating Glucose Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies the odd‐chain fatty acid C19:0 as an endogenous ligand of GPR120 that promotes glucose homeostasis via Gαq signaling. In obesity, elevated palmitic acid suppresses endogenous C19:0 production through a miRNA–PPARα–HACL1 pathway, offering a promising direction for understanding the role of OCFAs in human health.
