Uterine Extracellular Vesicles Can Emulate the Long‐Term Effects of Post‐Partum Negative Energy Balance in Dairy Cows

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 92, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Dairy cows often experience a period of negative energy balance (NEB) during the post‐calving period, which can significantly impact economic outcomes due to extended calving‐to‐conception intervals and overall reduced fertility. This reduction is due, in part, to the impact on uterine biology by high nonesterified fatty acids (NEFA) and beta ...

Exploring MicroRNA Biomarkers for Parkinson’s Disease from mRNA Expression Profiles

open access: yesCells, 2018
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a chronic, progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by both motor and nonmotor features. The diagnose of PD is based on a review of patients’ signs and symptoms, and neurological and physical ...

Ferroptosis in Cancer and Inflammatory Diseases: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 9, September 2025.
Ferroptosis, a form of cell death driven by iron and lipid peroxidation, serves as a bridge between cancer and inflammatory diseases. Microenvironmental factors such as oxidative stress collectively regulate this process. In cancer, ferroptosis exhibits dual roles: while it eliminates drug‐resistant cells, it may also promote tumor metastasis.

Cell Apoptosis and Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteonecrosis

open access: yesMed Research, Volume 1, Issue 2, Page 207-225, September 2025.
The review identifies glucocorticoid‐induced osteocyte/osteoblast apoptosis as central to femoral head osteonecrosis (GION), mediated through STAT1‐caspase‐3, PI3K/Akt, Wnt/β‐catenin, and oxidative stress pathways. Emerging therapies targeting these pathways (e.g., HIF‐1α stabilization, AMPK activation, and exosome‐mediated miRNA delivery) show ...

Exosomes in Metabolic Diseases: From Molecular Mechanisms to Clinical Applications

open access: yesMedComm – Future Medicine, Volume 4, Issue 3, September 2025.
We summarize recent progress in exosome biology and elucidate their roles in interorgan communication networks underlying metabolic pathogenesis. We also comprehensively examine the evolving application of exosomes in metabolic disease management, with a focus on critically evaluating preclinical and clinical advances in exosome‐mediated therapeutic ...

Circular RNA 100146 functions as an oncogene through direct binding to miR-361-3p and miR-615-5p in non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Cancer, 2019
Circular RNAs are widely expressed in eukaryotic cells and associated with cancer. However, limited studies to date have focused on the potential role of circRNAs in progression of lung cancer.

Entamoeba histolytica Up-Regulates MicroRNA-643 to Promote Apoptosis by Targeting XIAP in Human Epithelial Colon Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2019
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that function as negative regulators of gene expression. Recent evidences suggested that host cells miRNAs are involved in the progression of infectious diseases, but its role in amoebiasis remains largely ...

Identification of Prognostic Biomarker Signatures and Candidate Drugs in Colorectal Cancer: Insights from Systems Biology Analysis

open access: yesMedicina, 2019
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second most common cause of cancer-related death in the world, but early diagnosis ameliorates the survival of CRC. This report aimed to identify molecular biomarker signatures in CRC.

Lipid metabolism-related genes are involved in the occurrence of asthma and regulate the immune microenvironment

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Background Lipid metabolism plays a pivotal role in asthma pathogenesis. However, a comprehensive analysis of the importance of lipid metabolism-related genes (LMRGs) in regulating the immune microenvironment in asthma remains lacking.
