Long non-coding RNA-NEAT1, a sponge for miR-98-5p, promotes expression of oncogene HMGA2 in prostate cancer. [PDF]

open access: yesBiosci Rep, 2019
Abstract Increasing evidence demonstrated that noncoding RNAs (lncRNA, miRNA) play important roles in the cancer development. LncRNA NEAT1 functions as an oncogene in many cancers. However, the roles of NEAT1 in prostate cancer (PCa) remain largely unknown.

The anti-apoptosis effect of isovitexin on human keratinocytes by regulating miR-98-5p/Bcl-2/Bcl-xL and MAPKs/NF-κB signaling pathways

open access: yesFood Chemistry Advances, 2023
Isovitexin is a highly bioactive food-derived flavonoid currently attracting attention for its signal transduction-based antioxidant effects. This study focused on the potential molecular mechanisms by which isovitexin protects HaCaT cells from oxidation-

miR‑98‑5p promotes osteoblast differentiation in MC3T3‑E1 cells by targeting CKIP‑1

open access: yesMolecular Medicine Reports, 2018
Casein kinase 2-interacting protein 1 (CKIP-1) is a negative regulator for bone formation. Previously, using bioinformatics analysis, CKIP‑1 has been predicted to serve the role of target gene of miR‑98‑5p. In the present study, the potential role of miR‑98‑5p in regulating osteoblast differentiation through CKIP‑1 was investigated.

Neuroinflammation-associated miR-106a-5p serves as a biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis of acute cerebral infarction

open access: yesBMC Neurology, 2023
Background Acute cerebral infarction (ACI) is a common cerebrovascular disease. Previous studies have shown that some abnormally expressed microRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in ACI.

Profiling microRNA from Brain by Microarray in a Transgenic Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small noncoding RNAs, which regulate numerous cell functions by targeting mRNA for cleavage or translational repression, and have been found to play an important role in Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.
