The genetic consequences of successful reintroduction of wild turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) in Nebraska

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin
The wild turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) recovered from near extirpation because of protection from unrestricted harvest and from introductions and translocations. In Nebraska, modern turkeys are descendants of introductions of domestic, Eastern, Merriam's,

Application of Multi‐Method Dating for Understanding the Gravettian North of Moravia, Central Europe

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article presents the results of integrating three methods to assess the age of the Upper Palaeolithic site of Pietraszyn 11 (SW Poland), close to the Moravian Gate. Sediment chronology determined using optically stimulated luminescence produced promising, yet ambiguous results (51.0 ± 3.7 to 20.3 ± 0.7 ka).

Delivering biodiversity and pollination services on farmland: a comparison of three wildlife-friendly farming schemes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Data on the species and abundances of bees, butterflies, hoverflies, birds and plants found on farms together with data on the pollination services and species and densities of flowers, from twelve farms in the south of England.

Unravelling Taxonomic Complexity in Elusive Cetaceans: Mitogenome Insights into Evolutionary History and Cryptic Diversity of Bryde's Whales

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
The Bryde's whale is one of the least understood baleen whale species globally, limiting accuracy of regional and global conservation assessment. This study shows the occurrence of unique genetic lineages and evolutionary histories among Bryde's whale populations.

Comparative mitogenomic analyses unveil conserved and variable mitogenomic features and phylogeny of Chedrinae fish

open access: yesZoological Research, 2022
Chedrinae fish, which belong to Danionidae, have important ornamental, economic, and scientific value. At present, however, their mitogenomic features are unclear and their phylogenetic relationships remain controversial. In this study, we presented five new Chedrinae mitochondrial genomes (mitogenomes) and analyzed the conserved and variable ...

Mitogenomic features of the citrus leafminer, Phyllocnistis citrella (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) and the related mitogenomic phylogeny [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA Part B, 2020
The complete mitochondrial genome of the citrus leafminer, Phyllocnistis citrella (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) was sequenced for the first time, which was 15,416 bp in length and with an A + T content of 81.9%. The common set of 37 genes (13 PCGs, 22 tRNA genes, and two rRNA genes) were all annotated.

The complete mitochondrial genome of the house dust mite Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (Trouessart): a novel gene arrangement among arthropods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background: The apparent scarcity of available sequence data has greatly impeded evolutionary studies in Acari (mites and ticks). This subclass encompasses over 48,000 species and forms the largest group within the Arachnida.

Genetic Reference Gaps Limit eDNA Metabarcoding and Biodiversity Monitoring of Tropical Mangrove Ecosystems

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 3, May–June 2026.
This review reveals major genetic data gaps for Philippine mangrove fauna, especially invertebrates, limiting species‐level eDNA detection. By compiling 48 years of biodiversity records and assessing reference library coverage, it highlights the need for targeted sequencing and shows how integrating eDNA with conventional surveys strengthens monitoring

Comparative mitogenomic and phylogenetic characterization on the complete mitogenomes of Talaromyces (Penicillium) marneffei [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA Part B, 2016
We report the complete mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequences of four Talaromyces marneffei strains and performed comparative genomic and phylogenetic analyses. The gene orders of the four mtDNAs are identical to the previously published mtDNA of strain PM1 (nad4l, nad5, nad2, atp9, cob, nad1, nad4, atp8, atp6, nad6, cox3, rps, cox1, nad3, cox2 ...

Mitochondrial genome sequencing of notorious scuticociliates (Pseudocohnilembus persalinus) isolated from Turbot (Scophthalmus maximus L.)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2018
Previously, a pathogenic ciliate was isolated from the surface ulcer of a diseased Turbot (Scophthalmus maximus L.) at an aquaculture farm in North China.
