THE CORRELATION BETWEEN MITOTIC ACTIVITY AND YIELD TO HELIANTHUS ANNUUS L. [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Papers Series : Management, Economic Engineering in Agriculture and Rural Development, 2020
The purpose of this study was to establish the existence of a correlation between mitotic activity in Helianthus annuus (sunflower) and seed production, taking into research five genotypes (G1-G5). The mitotic index had variable values (19.5%-39.4%).

Changes in mitotic index during onset of dormancy in Douglas-fir seedlings

open access: yes, 1980
A method is presented for rapid determination of the mitotic index in terminal buds of Douglas-fir, Pseudotsugamenziesii (Mirb.) Franco. Fertilization at planting increased mitotic index but fertilized seedlings entered dormancy at the same time as ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Comparison of Mitotic Count and Ki-67 Index in Grading Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors and Their Association with Metastases

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) are graded per the World Health Organization (WHO) using mitotic count and the Ki-67 index.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

LIGHT-DARK CYCLE AND MITOTIC INDEX IN ASELLUS-AQUATICUS (L) (CRUSTACEA, ISOPODA)

open access: yes, 1990
The circadian variation of the mitotic index during spermiohistogenesis was studied in Asellus aquaticus (L.). The actual number of metaphases and prometaphases was determined at the end of each hour of light or darkness over a 24 h period in animals ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Assessment of cell proliferation and prognostic factors in canine mammary gland tumors Avaliação da proliferação celular e fatores prognósticos em tumores mamários caninos

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia, 2008
Three methods for the analysis of cell proliferation, mitotic index/10 high-power fields (10 HPF), mitotic index/four sets of 10 HPF (40 HPF), and MIB-1 index were evaluated in a series of canine mammary gland tumors, as well as the possible correlation ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
