The effect of photoperiodic treatments on mitotic activity in Pharbitic nil Chois

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
The short-day plant, Pharbitis nil, requires only a single inductive cycle with a 16-hour dark period for flowering. The mitotic activity in the shoot apices was studied directly after the termination of the inductive photoperiod.

The Diagnostic and Prognostic Utility of DOG1 Expression on Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors [PDF]

open access: yesTürk Patoloji Dergisi, 2017
Objective: We aimed to review our archives in order to evaluate both the diagnostic and prognostic significance of DOG1 on gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs), and add further insight about those issues to the current literature including some ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

ELECTROPHORETIC IDENTIFICATION FOR GENOTOXIC EFFECTS OF ETHYLE METANE SULPHONATE AND ENDOXAN IN ONION ( Allium cepa, L ). ROOT TIP CELLS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural Chemistry and Biotechnology, 2013
Electrophoretic protein profiles were used in this study as a successful tool to estimate the possible mutagenic potentialities produced by the possible genotoxic effect Ethyle methane sulphonate ., Endoxan and its relation to the variations

STAT3 Expression and Correlation Between Ki-67 and PHH3 in Meningiomas: Is it Possible to Predict Recurrence?

open access: yesDüzce Tıp Fakültesi Dergisi, 2022
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between PHH3 and ki-67 labeling index, and the association of STAT3 expression with mitotic index, grade by World Health Organization 2016 classification, and clinicopathological features of ...

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Correlation between Ki-67 labeling index and mitotic index in Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology
Background: Proliferative activity of any tissue or neoplasm can be determined by its growth rate by mitotic count or by using antibodies directed against specific antigens like Ki-67. The usefulness of Ki-67 in head and neck cancers has been debated for

Hepatocellular Carcinoma's Characteristics in an Endemic Country: A Closer Examination of Tumor Grade and Microvascular Invasion

open access: yesSiriraj Medical Journal, 2023
Objective: Although histological grade and microvascular invasion are known predictors for patient survival and recurrence in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), their relationship with various clinical and histomorphological features of HCC remains unclear.
