Porcine SLITRK1: Molecular cloning and characterization [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2014
The membrane protein SLITRK1 functions as a developmentally regulated stimulator of neurite outgrowth and variants in this gene have been implicated in Tourette syndrome. In the current study we have cloned and characterized the porcine SLITRK1 gene. The genomic organization of SLITRK1 lacks introns, as does its human and mouse counterparts.

Development of a Universal Cloning System for Reverse Genetics of Human Enteroviruses

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
Enteroviruses (EVs) have been associated with several human diseases. Due to their continuous emergence and divergence, EV species have generated more than 100 types and recombinant strains, increasing the public health threat caused by them.

A practical comparison of ligation-independent cloning techniques. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The precise assembly of specific DNA sequences is a critical technique in molecular biology. Traditional cloning techniques use restriction enzymes and ligation of DNA in vitro, which can be hampered by a lack of appropriate restriction-sites and ...

Molecular cloning of a bovine cathepsin [PDF]

open access: yesBiochemical Journal, 1985
A cDNA clone for a thiol endoproteinase has been isolated from a bovine heart cDNA library by using a mixture of 32 synthetic oligonucleotides as a hybridization probe. The inserted region is 672 base pairs in length. It contains a sequence encoding the C-terminal region of a protein that is homologous to rat liver cathepsins B and H and to plant thiol

Golden GATEway cloning--a combinatorial approach to generate fusion and recombination constructs. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The design and generation of DNA constructs is among the necessary but generally tedious tasks for molecular biologists and, typically, the cloning strategy is restricted by available restriction sites.
