This study firstly isolated a tuna‐derived gut probiotic Acinetobacter seifertii YFT067. Dietary administration of YFT067 played significant roles in promoting growth performance, SCFAs production, lipid absorption, and metabolism of the host, indicating YFT067 as a promising probiotic candidate for enhancing tuna aquaculture productivity through ...

Experimental and Modeling Studies of the Reaction Kinetics of Alkaline-Catalyzed used Frying Oil Glycerolysis using Isopropyl Alcohol as a Reaction Solvent [PDF]
An alkaline catalyzed glycerolysis of used frying oil using sodium hydroxide and isopropyl alcohol as solvent was investigated. A reaction kinetic model considering glycerol-triglyceride solubility and a second order kinetic mechanism was also developed.

Monoacylglycerol lipase inhibition-induced changes in plasma corticosterone levels, anxiety and locomotor activity in male CD1 mice [PDF]
The hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal-axis is strongly controlled by the endocannabinoid system. The specific impact of enhanced 2-arachidonoylglycerol signaling on corticosterone plasma levels, however, was not investigated so far.

Triacylglycerol (TAG) lipases hydrolyze ester bonds in TAG and release diacylglycerol (DAG), monoacylglycerol (MAG), and FA. We present a one-step chemical derivatization method for label-free quantification of a mixture of TAG, DAG, and MAG following ...

Monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL) inhibition attenuates acute lung injury in mice. [PDF]
Endocannabinoid signaling is terminated by enzymatic hydrolysis, a process that, for 2-Arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), is mediated by monoacylglycerol lipase (MAGL).

Disrupted endocannabinoid signaling contributes to systemic inflammation in acute pancreatitis
Abstract Acute pancreatitis (AP) is an inflammatory disease that can lead to systemic complications in severe cases. The endocannabinoid system has emerged as a potential modulator of inflammation in AP. We investigated the role of the endocannabinoid 2‐arachidonoylglycerol (2‐AG) and the cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2 during AP.

Conformational Plasticity and Ligand Binding of Bacterial Monoacylglycerol Lipase [PDF]
Monoacylglycerol lipases (MGLs) play an important role in lipid catabolism across all kingdoms of life by catalyzing the release of free fatty acids from monoacylglycerols. The three-dimensional structures of human and a bacterial MGL were determined only recently as the first members of this lipase family.

This review highlights recent advances in integrating biocatalysis and chemocatalysis in continuous flow to create streamlined, sustainable processes. It examines chemo‐enzymatic cascades combining at least one enzymatic and one chemical step, discusses challenges such as enzyme immobilization, leaching, and reactor clogging, and presents solutions ...

Enzymatic alcoholysis was performed in an organic medium to synthesize 2-monoacylglycerol (2-MAG) rich in arachidonic acid. The results showed that solvent type and water activity (aw) significantly affected the 2-MAG yield. Under the optimum conditions,
