Box–Behnken optimization and ANN‐ANFIS integrated modelling for transesterification using thermally activated basic oxygen furnace slag catalyst

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Global energy demand and environmental concerns have intensified the search for renewable and sustainable energy sources. This study thus, focuses on optimizing the transesterification process of waste cooking oil (WCO) using thermally activated basic oxygen furnace slag catalyst calcined at 850°C (BOF 850). The optimization and modelling were

Structural Build-Up and Stability of Hybrid Monoglyceride–Triglyceride Oleogels

open access: yesGels
Oleogelation is an alternative oil structuring route to formulate (semi-)solid fats with a reduced amount of saturated fats. Monoglycerides have been identified as effective gelators; however, their application potential can be limited due to challenges ...

Isolation and characterization of four lipolytic preparations from rat skeletal muscle

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1968
Four different lipolytic preparations have been isolated from rat skeletal muscle. Two of these, provisionally designated monopalmitin lipase (MPL) and monomyristin lipase (MML), are associated with insoluble cellular particulate fractions. The other two

Chemical Composition and Crystallization Behavior of Oil and Fat Blends for Spreadable Fat Applications

open access: yesFoods
To meet the expectations of European consumers, who prioritize agro-environmental factors and local resources, the substitution of fats (palm, coconut, shea) and achieving a balanced fatty acid profile in spreadable fats are gaining more attention.

Seed lipid profiles of perennial ryegrass: Global patterns and differentiation of ryegrass cultivars and Epichloë endophytes

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Seed lipid profiles from three ryegrass cultivars infected with AR501 show distinct changes in the medium‐chain diacylglycerols, triacylglycerols and sphingolipids. The differential peal LN745.5052_5.78 can be identified as PG 16:0_18:2 with the supporting ms2 fragmentation spectrum. Abstract Background Forage perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) has

Biodiesel Production from Hevea brasiliensis Seeds: A Systematic Review

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Chemistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Hevea brasiliensis (HB) species, also called the rubber tree, is currently cultivated worldwide for the extraction of latex, an input for rubber production. In addition, its seeds currently have few productive applications, despite their high oil content.

PDE4D and PDE3B orchestrate distinct cAMP microdomains in 3T3‐L1 adipocytes

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Basal conditions: •Ins/PDE3B lowers cytoplasmic cAMP (cyt‐cAMP) without affecting plasma membrane cAMP (pm‐cAMP). •Insulin decreases lipid droplet cAMP (LD‐cAMP) independent of PDE3B. •FGF1/PDE4D modestly reduces both cyt‐ and pm‐cAMP, while PDE4D alone can modulate LD‐cAMP. ISO stimulation: •Ins/PDE3B has minimal impact on cyt‐cAMP.
