Chemical Constituents and Biological Activities of Oxandra (Annonaceae): A Review

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Oxandra (Annonaceae) comprises 29 species distributed across South and Central America. Despite this diversity, the genus remains under‐investigated. This study presents the first comprehensive review of the chemical composition and biological activities of Oxandra species, utilizing databases such as SciFinder, ScienceDirect, PubMed, and ...

Cyclization of Citronellal to Isopulegol Catalyzed by Temperature‐Stable Aluminum Complexes with Tripodal Tris(silanolate) Ligands

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 1, January 2026.
C3‐Symmetric aluminum chelate complexes endowed with tripodal tris‐silanolate ligands are shown to be excellent catalysts for the selective carbonyl ene‐type cyclization of citronellal to isopulegol as the key intermediate of the current industrial syntheses of menthol.

HS‐FET‐GC/MS‐Method Development and Validation for Analysis of 45 Terpenes—Creating a Complementary Tool for Comprehensive Profiling of Cannabis Flowers in Forensics

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 18, Issue 1, Page 118-138, January 2026.
Legalisation of medicinal cannabis leads to an increasing complexity of specific forensic questions. Terpenes, volatile hydrocarbons with modular construction principle of isoprene subunits, are suggested as second substance class alongside phytocannabinoids for classification of cannabis material.

Synchronous and Asynchronous Variation of Taxonomic and Phylogenetic Diversity During the Succession of Pinus kesiya var. langbianensis Forest in Yunnan, China

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
Based on community data and the space‐for‐time‐substitution (SFTS) approach, this study shows that both taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity follow a cosine pattern during succession, with PD peaking earlier than TD. Community stability increases as niche differentiation strengthens, with competitive exclusion dominating early and late stages, and ...

Physicochemical, Mechanical, and Biological Properties of Pectin‐Based Films as Affected by Storage Time, Rosmarinus officinalis and Syzygium aromaticum Essential Oils Addition

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, Volume 4, Issue 1, Page 196-206, January 2026.
Pectin films containing rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) and clove (Syzygium aromaticum) essential oils demonstrated enhanced antimicrobial and antioxidant effects. However, their functional stability decreased during storage, highlighting their potential as sustainable packaging materials while emphasizing the need for further optimization to improve
