Re‐thinking peripheral dysfunctions in obesity: The emerging role of sulphaceutics and sulphanutraceutics

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Obesity is a chronic, relapsing, multisystem disease in which cardiometabolic risk arises from excess adiposity and progressive dysfunction of peripheral organs, ultimately disrupting endocrine and metabolic crosstalk among tissues. Within this network, sulphur‐based biology, centred on hydrogen sulphide and related reactive sulphur species, has ...

UTILIZATION OF MORINGA LEAVES (Moringa oleifera L.) AND SEAWEEDS (Sargassum sp.) TO IMPROVE NUTRIENT CONTENTS OF LIQUID ORGANIC FERTILIZER [PDF]

open access: yes
Liquid organic fertilizer is increasingly applied in crop production to optimize the use of solid organic fertilizer. Green biomass is one of composing material for the production of liquid organic fertilizer, since the nutrient contents in plant tissue ...

Tachinidae (Diptera) as Floral Visitors and Pollinators in Natural and Managed Systems

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
We review the roles of bristle flies (Tachinidae) as pollinators in natural and managed systems. We find that most tachinid genera visit flowers and that floral‐adapted mouthparts have evolved repeatedly many times in the family. We review patterns of floral specificity and assess the efficacy of tachinids as pollinators with case studies.

Mystery and misery of locally‐delivered drug therapy in periodontics. Historical concepts and current state

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract The primary objective is to critically analyze approaches to local therapy for periodontal disease, particularly in light of its well‐established systemic implications. We specifically address common misconceptions and overestimations regarding the potential of local treatments in contrast to their actual clinical effectiveness.

Sustainable Aquaculture Industry in Kenya: Mapping Inputs for Fish Feed, Constraints, and Opportunities for Youth Involvement

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 19, Issue 1, January 2027.
The cost of aquafeed continues to constrain aquaculture production amidst the availability of locally available ingredients for feed formulation and technological opportunities. Information dissemination and innovative rethinking on the utilization of local opportunities and youthful labor may spur the growth of the sector, thus improving fish protein.

Non‐Destructive Analysis of Phenolic and Flavonoid Contents in Medicinal Plant Powders Using Hyperspectral Imaging and Variable Selection

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 7, Issue 2, December 2026.
ABSTRACT Phenolic and flavonoid contents in medicinal plants are essential to their growth and development and provide numerous health benefits, yet their quantification using traditional wet chemistry is labor‐intensive and time‐consuming. This study utilized the combination of two benchtop hyperspectral imaging (HSI) systems, namely short‐wave ...

Moringa leaves extract in edible oils: total phenolics by sonication [PDF]

open access: yes
Edible oil, as an environmentally friendly solvent, supports the extraction of secondary metabolites based on green technology. Secondary metabolite compounds function as natural antioxidant agents found in moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera L.), also ...

Extractability of Rutin in Herbal Tea Preparations of Moringa stenopetala Leaves

open access: yesBeverages, 2015
The study examined the comparative rutin contents and antioxidant potentials of the two closely related Moringa species: the Ethiopian (Moringa stenopetala) and Indian Moringa (M. oleifera). It is demonstrated that M. stenopetala leaves extract was a far

Simulating Agroecology Policy Options for the Resilience of Smallholder Food Security to Climate Shocks

open access: yesClimate Resilience and Sustainability, Volume 5, Issue 2, December 2026.
Climate shocks and the agroecology–resilience nexus of smallholders. Summary of key findings: Agroecology increases smallholder resilience capacity by 8.7% in the short term under a decreased rainfall scenario, a projected 11% decline in precipitation reduces resilience by 5.6% and 14.2% in the short and long terms, respectively, and a policy‐induced ...

Nutritional quality of protein concentrates from Moringa Oleifera leaves and in vitro digestibility

open access: yes, 2020
The nutritional value and digestibility of leaf proteins is still a major issue. Therefore, the goal of this work was to optimize the production of a protein concentrate (PC) from Moringa Oleifera defatted leaves (MODL) by enzymatic extraction using ...
