Moringa oleifera (Lam.): a natural remedy for ageing?

open access: yesNatural Product Research, 2020
Effect of Moringa oleifera, an age-old ingredient of Indian ayurvedic and traditional medicine, was tested for its effect on age related antioxidant activity in Wistar albino rats of three age groups (6, 12 and 18 months old). Aqueous extract of M. oleifera leaves (MOAE) was administered orally at a dosage of 200 mg/kg body weight for a period of 30 ...

Preference and In Vitro Digestibility of Leaves of Woody Plants by Sheep in the Northern Sudanian Zone

open access: yesJournal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition, Volume 110, Issue 2, Page 200-212, March 2026.
ABSTRACT In West Africa, trees and shrubs are important for feeding ruminant livestock during the dry season. This study aimed to determine the in vitro digestibility of organic matter from eight woody species using a gas test with and without the addition of polyethylene glycol (PEG), and evaluate their preference by sheep using a cafeteria test ...

Seasonality Affects the Phenolic Composition and Erythroprotective Activity of Ora‐Pro‐Nobis (Pereskia aculeata) Leaves

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Ora‐pro‐nobis (OPN) is a food plant with polyphenol‐rich leaves. However, the influence of seasonality on their quantitative phenolic composition and how it impacts their bioactivities is unknown. OPN leaves were harvested throughout 12 months, and their individual phenolic content, antioxidant activity, and erythroprotection were assessed ...

Integrated GC–MS Profiling and Phytosynthesis of MnO2 Nanoparticles Using Moringa oleifera: Assessment of Antioxidant, Cytotoxicity, and Potential In Vitro and In Silico Inhibitory Effects on α‐Amylase and α‐Glucosidase

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 2, February 2026.
Manganese oxide (MnO NPs), synthesis of Moringa oleifera leaf extract nanoparticles, are spherical and crystalline with a size of 8.3 nm. They exhibit strong antioxidant activity in DPPH and ABTS assays, with IC50 values of 9.08 and 6.62 µg/mL, respectively, and demonstrate low toxicity to kidney and liver cells.
