Design and Synthesis of Novel Isoflavene TANK‐Binding Kinase 1 Inhibitors With Anti‐Inflammatory Activity

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
TANK‐binding kinase 1 (TBK1) is a key regulator of innate immune signalling and an emerging therapeutic target. Here, we report the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of isoflavonoid TBK1‐modulating analogues, achieving a sixfold enhancement in inhibition of TBK1 signalling relative to the clinically relevant idronoxil (IDX) parent scaffold ...

Closing the Carbon Loop: Continuous‐Flow Synthesis of N‐Aroyl Sulfoximines via Electrochemical CO2 Reduction

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 13, 14 July 2026.
A modular continuous‐flow platform enables the Pd‐catalyzed carbonylative N‐aroylation of sulfoximines using carbon monoxide (CO) generated on demand from carbon dioxide (CO2) via solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC). The integration of a heterogeneous palladium catalyst and a biomass‐derived solvent provides a safe, scalable, and sustainable route to ...

On the Planarity of Heterocyclic Bay‐Substituted Perylenediimides: Insight into the Fluorescent Photoinduced Electron Transfer Sensing Framework

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 26, 13 July 2026.
Near‐infrared fluorescent pH indicators based on perylenediimide were constructed in a modular receptor–spacer–fluorophore–spacer–receptor format with heterocyclic amino moieties at the bay positions. Counterintuitively, the dibrominated intermediate with two heavy atoms is more emissive than the heterocyclic compounds.
