Lowering Lipophilicity by Adding Carbon: One-Carbon Bridges of Morpholines and Piperazines.
Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2018In this article, we report our investigation of a phenomenon by which bridging morpholines across the ring with one-carbon tethers leads to a counterintuitive reduction in lipophilicity.

Photocatalytic Synthesis of Substituted 2-Aryl Morpholines via Diastereoselective Annulation.
Journal of the American Chemical SocietyMorpholines are prevalent in medicinal chemistry due to their favorable pharmacokinetic properties and widespread presence in FDA-approved drugs. Existing methods for morpholine synthesis often require prefunctionalized or protected reagents, limiting ...

Green Synthesis of Morpholines via Selective Monoalkylation of Amines.
Journal of the American Chemical SocietyMorpholines are common heterocycles in pharmaceutical and agricultural products, yet methods to synthesize them from 1,2-amino alcohols are inefficient.

By using cheap and innocuous reagents, such as NaClO2, NaOCl, and catalytic amounts of TEMPO, a new environmentally friendly protocol for the selective and catalytic TEMPO C(sp3)-H oxidation of piperazines and morpholines to 2,3-diketopiperazines (2,3 ...

A One-Pot Reaction toward the Diastereoselective Synthesis of Substituted Morpholines.
Organic Letters, 2018The diastereoselective synthesis of various substituted morpholines has been achieved from vinyloxiranes and amino-alcohols under sequential Pd(0)-catalyzed Tsuji-Trost/Fe(III)-catalyzed heterocyclization.

In the title compound, C4H5NO3, the morpholine ring adopts a boat conformation that is distorted towards twist-boat, the boat ends being the two Csp3 atoms of the ring. The molecular packing is stabilized by the establishment of strong intermolecular NH...OC hydrogen bonds, which give rise to centrosymmetric dimers, and a network of weak CH2...OC ...

4-(2,4-Dinitrophenylsulfanyl)morpholine
Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2006In the title compound, C10H11N3O5S, the 2,4-dinitrophenyl fragment is connected by an S atom to the morpholine ring, which is in a chair conformation. The ortho- and para-nitro groups are slightly twisted out of the plane of the benzene ring. The molecules are linked into C(7) and C(10) chains by two intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
